Drop Sehwag & Kaif
by Biju Skariah on Apr 13, 2006 03:49 PM

Judging by wisdom not by emotion they should not be dropped, experience counts, luck helps, required public encouragement to keep mind free of their place in team.

Shewag and Kaif dropped
by Mukut on Apr 13, 2006 02:51 AM

Indian team selectors have people who just select and drop people out of thier whim .
I support kapil dev's decision of dropping shewag and kaif though i personally think kaif is a good fielder but still he needs some rest .I don't understand that why people think bad when somebody is asked to sit back ,it is good for the player to sit back and watch what he has done and learn from the mistakes .Finally he can come back with better shots and techniques. It also relieves players out from stresses which definitely helps to come back with more energy .

On the issue of ganguly he should be given a chance .

I fully agree with the legend cricketer Kapil Dev that Sehwag and Kaif should be asked to quit the team and play domestic cricket to regain their form.

I would like to advice here to Mr. Sehwag that when he talk about senior players he should show some respect for them. I heard his interview on TV after the match. When some correspondent asked about Kapil's statement, he took it very casually saying it was kapil's view.

Dual standards evident in Indian Cricket
by Sukanta Bhattacharya on Apr 12, 2006 07:46 PM

It is an irony that a non performer like Virender Sehwag dares to compare with the maestro Sachin Tendulkar (saying that he is also passing through a lean patch) and plays down the comeback of one of the finest lefthanders of contemporary cricket(referring Sourav Ganguly). While Sourav is being denied even one chance to prove himself, Sehwag and Kaif are being persisted upon. Isn't favouritism evident here? If the credibilities of Chappell are really to be believed then why is he unable to bring these batsmen back to form? Or why wasn't he able to bring back Ganguly to form? Or why not Tendulkar? He is here to irradicate the problems of the cricketers, not to irradicate the troubled cricketer. But in the given scenario, dumping Sehwag and Kaif and bringing back Ganguly seems the only solution. Need of experience in the team is a must. Without Tendulkar, Ganguly and Dravid the team seems just like a club team. Let's honour the heroes who are fighting back real hard, rather than hearing the tall talks of Sehwag. Enough of talks, now bring back ganguly to see some action and agression.

everybody knows what happens with ganguly .kaif and sehwag are playing badly than ganguly then what they are doing in team .if they looks statistics ganguly is better than both and if they looks for bigger name even then ganguly is far better.we can not understand this politics of bcci.either both should be dropped or ganguly should get a chance

Drop Sehwag & Kaif
by G. Mohan on Apr 12, 2006 03:40 PM

Why Kiran more has been partiality with sehwag & kaif and not doing with Ganguly since sehwag and kaif has not performed for the past 3 series i.e Srilanka,South Africa,Pakistan & now in England but still they are in team since they are a young. if they are young means they should perform why they are struggling I do know why kiran more is he personal fight with Ganguly by way of dropping and picking the non permances guys

Why the BCCI has not entering into this matter are they sleeping or given the power of hands to Kiran more

Enough Chance given to Sehwag and Kaif
by Anil Nair on Apr 12, 2006 03:26 PM

After so many chances given to Sehwag and Kaif, still both are playing like foolishly. From last several matches India is doing very well, but what is the contrubution of these two players? We cannot get next World Cup if both the players are playing this way. Give chance to Venu Gopal Rao and Gautam Gambhir. Sehwag given comment about Ganguly that he became past and we have to forget him, But if Sehwag still play like this way we cannot forget our golden past.

Hi,
I think , all these people who shoot off their opinions should shut up and let the relevent people to handle this. instead of releasing gas to the press, they must try to help them get in form, through their expert (?) gudence/experience. These so called 'commentors' have gone through th ebad patches themselves: let them not forget how they felt then!!

Do not drop Sehwag and Kaif
by P.Vijayalakshmi on Apr 12, 2006 03:03 PM

It would be a shear folly to drop players based on their performance in last few matches. More over if the man in question is one among the most experienced player. Sehwag is the only leading batsman who is the most experienced one India is having currently. Virender also is good wicket taking bowler. While Kaif is not only an exceptional fielder but also an excellent strike rotator and has proven as an amazing life-giver, with his converting ones into twos capability, to team India under pressure. Give the guys some break. Remember Ganguly was not only dropped due to his bad performance but majorly due to his narrow minded politics which would have hampered India from playing matches as a healthy team India.
