BCCI bonanza for ex-cricketers

In the US, where 'sport' is an industry, there is no Dept of Sports or any such govt body. Professional sport really starts at high school and culminates in college(University), whether football(American), soccer, baseball, hockey, track & field, lacrosse, swimming..you name it, sports is an integeral part of the carricula from high school thru university. India, on the other hand, has almost no sport infrastructure - even training facilities for cricket, the 'national sport' is extremely limited. So, only when professional sports becomes a business, totally independent of govt support and intervention, only then shall it become an industry, directly and indirectly employing millions and generating billions in revenue, while creating world-class athlethes and sportsmen, as in the ultimate sports Mecca, USA. But China, always with an eye to the future, has one of the largest sporting engine outside US and is taking steps to challege Uncle Sam in every sport, from baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey, swimming...to golf, tennis and other such 'gentleman's sport', leaving India to bite her dust.
