Mr. Anand and Mr. Sandeep, pls read the first para carefully as Dravid is mentioned fourth and not third, so pls before writing and blaming we should be sure. And thankx for such a good informations, hats off to REDIFF
Basically want to comment on very valid stats on Kaif, ZERO in 4 out last five innings and 4 runs in one. Still he has been chosen in the team. These stats should be sent to the selectors first. Hope Dravid does not let him play in the 12 in all remaining matches.
***Rahul Dravid on 34 completed his 9,000 runs in one-day international matches for India in his 279th match -- only the third Indian after Sachin Tendulkar (14146 runs in 362 matches) and Sourav Ganguly (10101 runs in 278 matches).*** The above paragraph is the part of article listed on this same site,Yes Rahul is the outstanding player he have the calibre to make 10-11k runs but the fact is he is the fourth indian to have 9000 runs in ODIs before him this mark is reached by Mohammed AzharUddin(First Player who reached the 9k mark)along with Sachin and Saurav. The statics should be checked before listed on websites speciaaly most acsessble sites like Rediff.
Azhar played 334 ODI in which he scored 9378 runs with strike rate of 74 approx including 7X100s and 58 X 50s.
yes, you guyz are right, but you guyz forget one thing, since Azahar caught in match fixing, he is banned from ICC and all of his records are taken away, so he cant be counted in any of the records,
i think whoever write this article, is smart enough, n didnt forget abt banned on azahar,
The stats say that Dravid is the third Indian after Sachin and Saurav to reach 9000 in ODI's. What about Azharuddin. Infact he was the first Indian to reach 9000 in ODI's. Another point missed out was that the total of 294 is India's second best against England after the epic 326 at Lords in the Natwest final in July 2002. Also, why is stats being provided for the 3rd ODI alone and not for the other two ODI's? There are some interesting points to note in the other two ODI's as well, e. g., England's collapse of last seven wickets for 47 runs (117-3 to 164 all out) may be one of their worst collapses. The 118 run 6th wicket stand between Dhoni and Raina in the second match could be one of India's best against England for the 6th wicket. Also India's record 14th successive victory while chasing. Please provide stats of the first two ODI's also. All the best to the Indian team to clinch the series. It is important they dont relax now. In April 2005 India started off with a 2-0 lead against Pakistan and went on to lose 4-2, it is important they dont repeat that. It is not just sufficient to win the series but also important to win convincingly possibly 7-0 or 6-1. Best wishes to India.
You forgot about Azaharuddin who also made more than 9000 runs in ODI. So we have 4 of them crossing the milestone. So Dravid the 4th Guy. Be sure about the stats before you write. Dont just write for the sake of it. Do Some research. Also make sure that you make a COMPLETE point. Azhar was a great player. You cant just ignore him like that.
