Dr. Wallace who performed the operation has given his comments. It is in a way advocating his berth in the team for West Indies tour. Further, he says that his batting and bowling is not affected but only his throw to the wickets. But facts speak otherwise. There is drought in scoring runs. The figures speak for themselves. Dr Wallace has gone out of his way to speak favourable for Sachin. While Sachin's case is more or less similar to that of Ganguly's. In fact, both should make way for deserving young players for building a better team for the morrow rather than stick to the old guards who now have only about a couple of years to play.
I wish Sachin a speedy recovery. But at the same time I wish that it is high time he retires now and make room for youngsters. There is no dearth of good batsmen in our country. But if the super senior players go on playing till eternity, how do our hidden treasures in the form of Dhonis, Irfans, Yuvrajs, and (now) Rainas get a chance to show their talents ? No less than our first prime minister, Pandit Nehru said " No body is indispensable in life ".
It is high time our selectors take a harsh decision of asking Sachin to retire because Sachin, like Ganguli would never do it of his own.
Please be patient and do not join rest of the media, I am sure Sachin Tendulkar will make a statement or announce fitness if he is really fit before the tour selection, the tour is 2 months away and noone can be 100% sure 2 days after a surgery, why speculate on a health issue of a great player. Don't you media guys have some real stories to tell?
This is regarding your article, I am must say tendulkar should be fit in health as well as in form also. we should not include a player just for his popularity
