India wont go to pieces
by Vijay on Sep 30, 2005 01:09 PM

Its a shame that, where a foreigner and a legend like Ian Chappell tries hard to bring about a change in Indian cricket for the good, there are millions of other ignorant mortals, who dont understand what it takes to become champions of the world, and the press, for getting lively news, tries to resist this very change and bring about a totally different picture forward of goodies ahead.

Face it!!! If players dont play well they should get sacked. Look at Australia. They just lost one Ashes series and already heads are rolling. If it was India in place of Australia, Saurav Ganguly would be captaining until he turned 60 and not 33.

It is not why India wont go to pieces, but more it has gone to pieces.

i definitely feel that the authorities took the easy way out by keeping Saurav and Greg.Who went public first? It was Saurav! He has been an extreme embarassment to Indian Cricket. Imagine Zim is such a weak side that inspite of the heavy problems that India was having they were still able to beat Zim convicingly!any other team besides B/desh India would have lost 2-0.Saurav should be ashamed of painfully labouring and struggling to a highly ordinary 100 against such a pathetic attack.Let me see him do that against Vaas and Murali.Saurav should have the basic ordinary decency to quit on his own rather than being thrown out.Yet again knowing the ugly politics that rule Indian cricket don't be surprised if they throw Greg out and keep a BENGALI has-been as the new "dynamic"coach of Indian cricket. If Dalmiya had his way and could have done so he would have been India's captain and put his blue-eyed boy as his deputy. These people are so shameless that they just don't care if they ruin India's cricket totally!!!!!!!
In Indian cricket the following is really true:"MONEY TALKS BULLSHIT WALKS"

Team India is not that Bad
by pinto on Sep 30, 2005 09:55 AM

The Team India of course is not on that bad situation. We might not have own the finals but reaching final is not a bad achievement! That means you are at World No.2! Should we not boast of this result? Till the recent surge of England, Australia was the no 1 team and we were at no.2(when you reach the finals you are minimum at no.2. To be practical we should not dream of beating all the teams in all series! Our feet must be on the ground. We are at par with Eng, Pak, NZ, SL, WI,SA. Our down fall is not like WI or Zim. So let us not get disheartened.

Wishful thinking
by Indian C. Fan on Sep 30, 2005 06:16 AM

This opinion piece is unreasonably optimistic. BCCI's track record doesn't inspire any confidence that it will do the RIGHT thing to make Team India into world beaters.

- Matchfixing scandal. All BCCI did was to bury its head in the sand like an ostrich. When the public's outrage become too much to ignore, all the BCCI did was to appoint a Chandrachud to eye-wash.

- Sponsorship hassles. BCCI continues to act directly contrary to the interests of the players. It treats the players as serfs.

In this scenario, it is impossible for the players to do well.

As long as we fans keep watching, the mega-bucks keep rolling in, and that is all BCCI cares about. If you want to see any changes, start boycotting cricket. Hit 'em where it hurts. Then see BCCI come crawling.

There is hardly anything here that I agree with.

The way you brought out ur thought is so good. Indian cricket has lot to learn from teams like england, australia in terms of professionalism. Well good signs are there in youngsters. Lets hope Indian cricket prospers for years to come.
