chappals ganguly controversy
by athar zia13 nishant kunj pitampura on Sep 27, 2005 12:58 PM

ganguly got exposed to a new thing called accountablity and and was checked for his behaviour and performance which he could not take in his stride.the experienced players have taken their place in national side as granted they dont perform in ten matches and then in one match they perform and again they are assured of another ten match.their should be a standing policy decision that if a player does not perferform in 4 or 5 matches continuiosly he should be rested.we should take an example from australian side where no body who ever he is whatever his contribution in the past can not take his selection granted.

chappal is 100% right in his approach.their has to be check on every bodys behaviour by a committe so that no body can take decisions which are unfair.unwanted and unjustifeid.

i9 think chappal has to be given free hand in selection and managent of team.

thanks

Ganguly should quit
by Kumar on Sep 27, 2005 12:57 PM

The supposed to come 1 year back. Since long time Ganguly is not performing ( unable to perform), still he has been given lot many chances. It never happened with any player, then why to Ganguly, Ganguly is no where excemption. It not the matter of an individual called Ganguly, but it is of India.

He is no where comparable with any captains, there might be instances that under his captaincy India might have won many matches, just because of this we cann't excempt Ganguly's individual performance.

he is just there to play politics. Atleast now Chappel is taking a call, and he should. As a Coach whatever he has to do, he is doing, at the same time we should not forget, whatever he is doing, that is for India.
Ganguly lost the faith in Indians. The survey is clearly showing it. almost 64% indians wants Ganguly to be out.

Let us see how BCCI reacts on this and also whether it keeps democracy alive or not.

Ganguly shoud be asked to resign
by amit on Sep 27, 2005 12:50 PM

I think ganguly should himself step down as a captain
since he is out of form for last couple of years and not able to fulfil responsiblity as a captain by stepping back from crucial matches.
Though India have won many matches under gangul's captaincy. It is not the ganguly alone who had won match for India. It was the 11 member Team who won it.

And Media says beacuse of ganguly we reached world cup final. It is totally wrong statement I feel.
It was because of sachin, dravid, yuvraj and kaif's batting performance which allowed us to win matches continusely.

I think sachin or Rahul should be given the captaincy

BCCI meeting
by K. Mallick on Sep 27, 2005 10:33 AM

There is an adage in Sanskrit, ' Ja palayati, sa jeebati' (The one who escapes, survives). The ailing father of Sunil Gavaskar has saved Sunil from the controversial BCCI meeting ! His immediate journey to Australia leaving his ailing father is surprising all the same.
It seems no body is interested nor committed in Indian cricket, including Saurav Ganguly. So long one is benefitted, one pretends to be committed.
Ganguly should have been relieved of caotaincy after last world cup loss after his dismal knock of 24 with a surprise chuckle (??) on his face !!

Gavaskar to skip BCCI meeting
by Indrajeet Maitra on Sep 27, 2005 10:25 AM

How typical and how convenient. Mr.Gavaskar can go to Australia (lots of money involved) but not attend the crucial meeting that can alter the course of Indian cricket.

Ofcourse taking a stance is fraught with economic risks. Why should Mr. Gavaskar take this risk ?

Gavaskar's exit
by Madhu on Sep 27, 2005 09:58 AM

Its good to hear the Sunil\'s dad is out of danger. Here\'s wishing him full recovery.

From Dalmiya\'s point of view, its one less headache for him, since everyone knows Sunil is a tough customer and would have taken Greg\'s side if the facts were against Saurav, which seem to be the case this particular incident. Wish SG was there to counter this.
