Well, one can guess Vengsarkar and Shastri would then also confess in front of everyone and agree that they were scared shit of facing the new ball, ie fast paced and even short length balls. But they are just hypocrites who were scared of the new ball which was fast and bouncy and now all such losers are criticizing Ganguly. They used to wet their pants with fear while facing fast bowlers and used to shy away from the stumps and run to the leg side when the fast bowlers came. What a farce by rediff.com to interview such pathetic losers. Shame Shame.
The public revelation by Ganguly of a private conversation and sneaky leakage of the coach's private report to the media has caused frenzied reaction everywhere! When dust settles and sanity prevails either Chappell resigns or Ganguly steps down. Interest of India's cricketing future lies in the latter option.Ganguly is clearly past his best and his weakness against the fast, lifting, swinging ball is legendary now. There is no place to hide in the team these days! His running between wickets and his fielding provide comic relief to the spectators.Self absorbed, his mind is prone to distraction and his captaincy has suffered in recent times. He is simply not the Ganguly of old and has no chance of being resurrected for WC 2007!He should step down in the team's interest. Chappell has no personal axe to grind while instilling professionalism in the team to extract optimum performance. He is a clear and strategic thinker. However he needs to understand Indian sensibilities to open criticism and consequent loss of face among peers! The Aussies take criticism from coaches without rancour but the complex Indian mind reacts differently. He needs to appreciate this to motivate the Indian team.
On Anshuman Gaekwads comment on Ganguly that 'if he was creating rift in the team he would not performed this well'. I feel Chapell has been brought to improve the performance and not to repeat the performance of Indian Team. Does Mr.Gaekwad think that loosing last 15 finals is good enough. Then what was the need to change the coach and go for the most expensive one. As Ganguly is available there was no need for a coach only.
