Please restore sanity.

While there is no question that SG needs to go NOW, the folks who selected GC as the coach need to consult members of the Indian cricket team (sans SG, of course), and then reconvene to figure out whether GC stays. My guess is that we need to start all over - new captain, new coach. Immature behaviour, and poor attitude should not, and must not be tolerated.

Ganguly should Step Down
by Sagar on Sep 23, 2005 08:01 PM

I support Chappell in asking Ganguly to step down. He did not stay up to the ocassions lately and all the cheap politics are visible to everyone. He had been a great captain in the past, but looking at current and future needs of the team, it is time for Ganguly to give chance to Dravid to lead the team.

chappel''s e. mail to bcci
by muralikrishna.v on Sep 23, 2005 07:56 PM

dear sir

i can understand the situation.greg is trying

to inculcate discipline and a new culture

into the indian cricket team.ganguly should be blamed for this entire episode.he insted of having one to one discussion went to press with his statement

little knowing that he is going to be the

loser.

his body language, mannerisms, behaviour on and off

the field showed that something is amiss

and seriously wrong.

his reflexes are gone and he is past his prime.

we have nothing aginst ganguly but when the tide is against him he should gracefully quit before

he is sentout uncermoniously.

india won against zimbabwae due to some superlative

bowling by irphan pathan and not because of

ganguly.

ganguly should conduct himself with decency

and decorum and pave the way for dravid to takeover.

thank u.

regarding Ganguly's captaincy
by varun kumar palavalasa on Sep 23, 2005 07:55 PM

Hello this is varun and i want to speak about ganguly.Accepting the fact that ganguly is a winning captain with good career record, but what is more important is his current performance. It would be better if he give chance to some other guy say kaif and look his career as a batsmen. I think he desperately needs to perform good form now and give a message to the world about his performance and talent.
I otp to greg chappel's response of mailing to BCCI as he had done his job keeping in view of the 2007 world cup.Thats a good move.
But chappel is unaware of the critique indian politics which are part and parcel in the indian cricket.
thankq for rediff mail for giving a chance to share my values with it.

thanks and regards

Das
Chappel is correct
by Das on Sep 23, 2005 07:50 PM

Chappel is definitely right! Ganguly is only fit to play against Zimbs, Bangladesh and Namibia. He is not mentally fit or physically fit

by Mrinmoy on Sep 23, 2005 07:24 PM

Simply throw Dada out of the Indian Squad.
He can earn his living very easily by selling Rs. 20/-dish at a price of Rs. 2000/- in his awesome restaurant "Sourav's" in Kolkata.

S. Rajiv
Saurav Ganguly
by S. Rajiv on Sep 23, 2005 07:23 PM

Saurav Ganguly is an absolute misfit in today's India cricket. He shams injuries, thinks too much of himself, plays dirty politics with the help of Jagmohan Dalmia all the time, and is bent on his personal performance at the cost of all other players. The way he ran out Laxman, almost ran out Pathan, and laboured to a painful ( for all spectators ) tells very poorly of him.
It is also time to get rid of Dalmia for the good of Indian cricket, as he is now busy with his business of manipulating international cricket. He did tremendous good for India, but the same is not visible now. Very sad for all of us if these two persist in their present positions.
