Now how come this leaked?
by Satya on Sep 23, 2005 10:24 PM

First the Coach said something in the dressing room, which the Captain leaked unprofessionally; the captain should be taken to task for that..

And now, the Coach sent a confidential email about the captain to the Board; and everyone including the captain seem to know about it; now where do we plug this leak? The Coach did it, or one of the esteemed Board members did it?

Its High Time that Indian Board give same approach as the Aussies
by Passang Tsering on Sep 23, 2005 10:23 PM

It is quite apparent from Ganguli's form in recent years has been abysmally low. Inspite of that, he not only managed to clung onto the captaicy but also continued to be in the team. It is not surprising when Kumble recently commented that the "axe regularly falls on certian Laxman or Kumblee...", when he and Laxman were not selected as a part of one day squad to Zimbabwe is a a veiled statement of the state of affairs of Indian cricket.

Ganguly has always been seen as an arrogant, irresponsible and unaccountable leader ans performer. It is high time that the board atleast releive Ganguly of the captaincy responsibility.

I defnitely think that chappel is right. Its time the arrogant indian captain make way for ones who deserve.
I never thought ganguly is a great player. He took his time playing selfishly to become a batsmen.Given that much amount of time and oppurtunities any state cricketer can be become a batsmen.
All his runs are against weak bowling. From past 2 years india is playing with 10 players.he does not make any diff to the team.
His attitude is bad and he is not good to be a indian cricketer.

ganguly/chappel

ganguly is unfit to be the captain and chappel's existence in the management does not augur well for india's future as well. Both have to be dropped.

Just like South africa, India should rush in Kaif or pathan as captain.

Ganguly unfit
by Padmanabhan.S on Sep 23, 2005 10:13 PM

For His poor Fielding & Running between the Wickets Ganguly does not deserve a place in the team, let alone captain the same. The earllier we sack Him the better for the team & the country.Pad

Get out of their faces
by Ken on Sep 23, 2005 10:02 PM

The only thing that's fuelling the rift between Ganguly and Chappell is the media. Why can't you guys just talk about cricket, instead of going all hollywood on us and reporting on personal relationships and disgreements. If the media stopped giving so much importance to this, then maybe the feud will repair itself. Things always work out for the best, but what the media is doing now isn't helping. Stop talking about Ganguly-Chappell and start talking about Cricket!

Ganduly unfit to lead
by Ashok Menon on Sep 23, 2005 09:34 PM

Chappell did nothing wrong. What's wrong with sending one's assessment to the Board. He didn't go public with his comments like Ganguly did. He wrote a letter to the board. The truce and writing a letter to the board are two different things. Since Ganguly is the captain there has to be truce between both coach and captain to have a working relationship. But that doesn't mean Chappell cannot write about the Captain to the board if he think's captain is unfit to lead the team. I think it show's Chappell's courage and character. It's Ganugly's characeter which is suspect, since he is the won who publicises a private conversation to the media.

Chappel- Ganguly Furore
by T K Biswas on Sep 23, 2005 09:16 PM

Chappel's rough words on Ganguly smells bad taste. It exposes his personal venom against Indian Captain . I must also say that Ganguly should not have opened the dressroom discussion to the media. This is a nonprofessional behaviour.Anyway when Chappel's remark that he did so only to provoke Sourav to play a fine innings gave him a taller image and brought respect to the cricket fans but his E mail(?) proved him a double speak person. As it stands today after he took over as Coach the results show bad to worse.Squarely he tries to shrug off his own responsibility. Anyway the whole Episode is really very sad.
