It's not too bad...
by Anbu on Sep 21, 2005 04:08 PM

It's not as bad as the experience my Friend and I had during 2003 in London Tubes.

Racist from London threw a Full (hopefully 2 litres) bottle of Bear on us. But still they claim as thay as more secular.

Late revelation?
by M.R.Srinivasan on Sep 21, 2005 03:44 PM

Throwing rocks and plastic bottles as missiles onto the cricket ground is itself very bad,but to be told now that he was 'shot at' at the Kotla ground is really something worse than a crowd-midemeanor that ought to have been brought out into the open for condemnation. But does the player concerned feel that it was for sure,as he didn't seem to have been physically hurt, but actually was able to carry on with the tour as though nothing of that had ever happened. Were the 'pellets'allegedly fired real stuff, or mock ones discharged playfully ! With the English team's forthcoming series in India, the timing of the revelation of the incident assumes relevance and significance.

Flintoff's claim
by K. Mallick on Sep 21, 2005 03:33 PM

The claim of Flintoff that he was shot at on January 31, 2002 during a one-dayer in Delhi surpizes me most, since the spectators in India love the game so much that they would never think of harming a player.

Flintoff's concoction
by Sreenivasan Raju Aiyer on Sep 21, 2005 02:25 PM

"I felt something hit me and, looking down, saw pellets on the ground," says Andrew Flintoff about the time he played ODI at Delhi's Feroze Shah Kotla ground last year. Well. I wish he had concocted something more convincing! He gets shot at, there is pellets on the ground, and yet he does not get injured, there is no blood. What is this cock and bull story that he has come out with! If he had to write something titilating, he could have taken something out of 7/7 or 21/7 that happened in his country, and he could have projected himself as one of the would-have-been hurt/killed and that would have been more convincing. This crap is as pathetic as the time he removed his jersey at the Wankhete statium, Mumbai.

wrong title
by junkcode on Sep 21, 2005 02:15 PM

"I was shot at in Delhi in 2005: Flintoff" was the title on the rediff homepage. It should read 2002 and NOT 2005.

First correct your news
by Anand on Sep 21, 2005 01:57 PM

Flintoff claims he was shot in Delhi 2005.

On the rediff Home Page dated 21/09/2005, 13.44 IST the linked "Flintoff claims he was shot in 2005" in in the detailed link it appears that Flintoff claims he was shot in 2002. So correct your Headline if I am right. If I am wrong in reading the statement then I appologise for that.
