Twenty test wins for Team India with Saurav at the helm !
by Dr. Cajetan Coelho on Sep 19, 2005 02:34 PM

Twenty test wins is an achievement that needs to be fittingly celebrated by one and all. The BCCI needs to take note of this major and unique event in its history and unfurl its plans to mark the occassion. Saurav Ganguly's unique greatness lies in being a player and captain of substance who brought glory to the game during the closing years in the last decade of the 20th century and now during the first decade of the current ongoing 21st century. Many great players of the bygone century have contributed a lot to the game but in terms of victories for Team India Saurav has been like a majestic bridge and a vital link between two centuries. Our Bengal tiger has successfully instilled genuine pride in our hearts and we are pleased with the laurels he has won for the country with his fine cricketing sense and forceful personality. Such are the people we need in these post modern times who have the courage to re- write history and re-make and re-shape our society. Our best wishes to Saurav, Gregory Chappell and Team India in their relentless march towards the pinnacle of cricketing glory. Our humble thanks for giving us 20 dazzling test victories. But dont forget 'Yeh dil mange more'.

This statistics is more than enough to silence all those calling for Ganguly dada's head. I hope chappel is given some statistics for his updating his knowledge.

All this controversy about seeking to step down from captaincy and such other trivial issues should be put to rest and focus should immediately shift cricker for the best of Indian cricket.

Statistics!!!

This is a classic case of numbers revealing something that does not take into account softer aspects of the issue, of the last six wins 4 are against oppositions that should not be playing test cricket in the first place. 67% of the wins are against minnows.

Technically therefore only 6 wins must really be recorded and the moot point is to find out did we win because of or inspite of Ganguly, most likely Ganguly's percentate contribution to the wins would be very very low.

Win Some and Lose Some or it Lose ALL.?

Is Ganguly A Winner? He Won the Test Match alright. Within a Day he became the Biggest Loser. Scores are not even. Since he Multiplied a PLUS by a MINUS the Answer is in MINUS. Instead of creating Records he has 'blotted' his record book. If he decides to retire and write a Book may be he can make up the losses.

Dear
I think you people will not be satisfied with Ganguly ..... Because from very first day every body targetting Ganguly though his teammates always appreciate him...though he is having the excellent record...please tell me how many Indian cricketer are there who have scored 15k international runs still we say he is having poor technique...Sanjay manjrekar has the best technique but how far he progressed...though all records are with him still foolishly we say plus added with minus is minus....Its a shame on people like you
