Youhanna conversion
by Mohammed on Sep 26, 2005 11:02 PM  | Hide replies

People have the choice of choosing their religion . Since I arrived at the exact opposite realization as youhanna . I born as a muslim will be converting next month to christianity . I have studied Koran since I was a child . I have found the Bible to be a revelation .

While I still like Islam . Some of the personal traits of Mohammed has alwyas troubled me since childhood . Finally when I have the freedom and I am convinced that christ is the true savior , since God would not have put his word through a man ( prophet Mohammed ) who has not been a perfect example at a personal level.

I would like other Muslims to tell me truthfully if some of the personal traits of Mohammed has never troubled them.

I would welcome any views on this.

It funny!

You know it really really strange how Kafirs (non muslims) make up all sorts of stories. If Youhana wanted to become captain , and converted to Islam thinking he had a better chance , WHY WOULD HE GO TO MAKKAH IN SUADI ARABIA AND DO SO. For publicity? WHY WOULD HE CHANGE HIS CHILDRENS SCHOOL AS WELL?
Surely everybody must understand peer pressure. Even by 16 years , I have been pressured by chirstians everywhere from school to airplanes, trying to convinvce me that if your a christain , you can succeed well in life.
If he was pressured by the team , his faith in Christainity is weak. Maybe he saw the lifes of the Pakistani cricketers and was inspired by them. In Sri Lanka, only a buddist can even become the Vice-Captain. People really argue about religion in cricket of Pakistan, because considering that Pakstan is a sorta over religious country It would not make sense to make a christain the vice captain. In Sri Lanka , experienced players in the calibre of Chaminda Vaas and World famous "Murali" have never ever become vice captains. Its always funny, how people get jelous when someone becomes a muslim. The Holy Quran states to us " And there is no compulsion in religion"

Its so sad to hear it,when christians in Pakistan are tortured, false cases for blasphemy are put. There are treated as second class citizens, they are shot in the churches by the so called followers of Islam.Yohanna would have been a voice for them.
Youhana would have spoken against the artocites against women,Killing, spreading hatred by the so called Islamist.I think youhana has not studied the Bible.

Assumptions can be made from thousands of kilometers away sitting in India. Facts are those which are evident right there in Pakistan open for the world. No one is tortured or terrorised in Pakistan. Its India where muslims are mass murdered for being muslims just as was done in Gujrat and Ahmedabad. Dear Shyam!! When did there was a riot between Muslims and Christians in Pakistan. Never ever in 58 years. In India, Sheikhs were killed in 84 mercylessly. We know what happened in Golden Temple. So, I think stop raising a finger as the rest of them are pointing to yourself. Its always hilarious how Indians point fingers at Pakistan when they know what they are doing to their minorities. Churches were burnt like anything and even US and UK took Vajpayee to task in that era. Come on give us instances not give a generalized statement. Thats the hatred with which the Indian Hindus are born. Thats why we got seperated from them, Successfully. No one could stop us as we were right!!

Subhan Allah! i would like to congratulate him on his briliant step.i just wanna reply to these comments made by some people that he embraces Islam because to be a captain,i was surprised on this foolish thought.how can a person left his religion for this purpose.just think can u do this?another person comment that he must be a weak man.yousuf faced blackmailing, strong opposition and also warnings from some terrorists that they will kill him if he convert to islam but he doesn't scare of them.do u think he is a weak person?
we should be optimistic.just think why these things don't made yousuf a scary person.what teachings make him so strong and he took such a brave step. my best regards to Mohd.Yousuf and his family.may Allah give them courage to face all these criticism against them.

He probably felt he would have a better shot at captaincy if he becomes a Muslim in Pakistan.
