As much as I would like to see Indian players figure on this list, I can't believe anyone in their right mind would want to pick even one, let alone so many right now. In fact, Rahul Dravid, by his own lofty standards, has been on a slide since he won the innaugural ICC award. Somehow Indian cricket seems to wield disproportionate influence on such global cricketing matters. There are for instance too many Indian cricketers on the 2 World one-day and Test teams. One of them (Sachin Tendulkar) ironically has barely stood in the middle of a cricket ground in the past six months and that too against Bangladesh! Only Rahul Dravid can qualify for the ICC award list - for being the most well-mannered bloke on any cricketing field in the world.
Do the ICC selectors really think Harbachan deserves to be on the list...? I can think of atleast a half dozen other players who have been more productive and entertaining.....Kaif, Shewag, Irfan, Yuvraj, Dhoni, even Zaheer...and the list goes on. Come on guys....go back and check your stats. Frank Cherian-USA
