Looking at Ganguly's present performance we must agree that Tiger is getting older,he looks tired.We appreciate his past performance, but if selectors are deciding only by considering his past record, we will have to pay for it in the next world cup. I think there needs only one change in the present one day team i.e.Sachin in,Sourav out, Rest team as it is with Dravid as a captain.
Wasim is absolutely correct. Ganguly needs to go. He has been given a long leash. Now its time to make the cut. Sorry mate, a long time ago Ganguly was among the best, but it looks like he has lost the fire within. It is reflecting on his lacklusture performance, both as a player and as a skipper.
You are damn right dear. And I appreciate somebody said it openly when things are getting worser. BCCI should be planning to build a team for next world cup. Strangely, they do not want to bring new talent. Ganguly was excellent some years back, but I dont think he should be hanging around anymore. If team India has won more series under his captaincy, the credit goes to team India itself....not Ganguly. I think Rahul also enjoys the same amount of respect and command on the team and he can be a very good captain. He will definitely have a tough time initially not because of the captaincy burden but because of the poor form the entire team.
Kaif will be better option as a Captain..instead of Dravid.He is young,energetic,sportsprits chap,intelligent & curious to do some new things...I think Kaif will be better choice than any other. Plz don't forget he proved himself as a good captain in Junior cricket. Plz go right rather then left..do 1st choice as captain i.e. Only KAIF...
I agree with Akram. Though Ganguly has been a good and probably India's most succesful captain, his batting form of late has been awful.
I am all for Ganguly taking a break, playing in local matches/county/whatever, getting back into form and then becoming the captain again. But persisting with Ganguly after such a prolonged slump in form is not good for the game. After all, the team matters more than any individual.
Ideally, Ganguly should step down on his own and take a break of 6 months.
Though not in tests as india hardly has found a reliable replacement in tests. the idea of giving captaincy to dravid would give him the confidence before the world cup. More over burden of carrying ganguly as a batsmen in one dayers is too much to handle.we should imm. lok at replacements to partner sehwag say gambir or yadhav?
With current form Ganguly is not fit to be in any international team. It is still wonder that he is still leading Indian team. As long as Dalmia is holding the fort, the fate of the Indian team cannot be changed. First replace Dalmia, Ganguly will follow suit.
A captain leads from the front. When a captain is strugling, entire team follows the same. I do n't believe why selectors have a lot of faith still on Ganguly. He plays lot of good cricket, that does not mean that we consider this while selecting captaincy. If this is the case, we should select Kapil Dev and told him, Go Ahead.....
Hi I think Akram said less, Not only captaincy is should be taken from GANGULY but also he needs to be removed from the team. So he should go back to RANJI trophy and get some practice. In National TEAM nothing should be taken granted for whole life. Only performers needs to be there. JAI HIND!!!!
