Main Points to keep in mind: (a) If we consider the performance against big team like New zealand and Srilanka then we will find in six matches Dravid has 2, Yadav, Ganguly and Sehwag has one 50 and Kaif has one 50 and one 100. We won in only one match against New zealand. Then why players like dhoni, Yuvraj, Sehwag get so many points ? (b) Now if we make an average considering the players who have played at least 5 games (12 such players) then average point for team India will be 5.7 (which is very near to first division 60%) still India won only one game out of six big matches so we are giving them a criteria to get first division if they some how manage to win only once in five or six matches against teams which has better rating than India and they are doing that so what is wrong ? !!!!! (c) Main problem is that We criticise only Ganguly and he deserves that but by doing that we are focusing only to one man but cricket is a game of 11 players.
Therefore, i do not agree with ratings because it is not clear except throwing Ganguly out what else we could achieve from that, it very highly overrates the players, for an example , Yuvraj has played 5 big matches with a score of 1(N) , 22(N), 20(N), 12(SRI), 42 (SRI) with an average of 19.4 but he scored 8 points for his performance against weak West Indies and Zimbabwe on the other hand, if we see Ganguly even in the miserable condition he scores 5, 19, 31, 51, 26 with average 26.4. Therefore i think points for Ganguly is OK but for Juvraj it is too high. If we see carefully except Kaif who has an average 47 against big teams all other players are highly over-rated. If we look at the past then we will find only Scahin, Ganguly and Dravid was the key to win big matches and problem is now except Dravid no one is consistent enough so that India can win regularly. In crisis we always tried with lot of new players but how many of them survived ? We will tell Yuvraj and Kaif but it is only 50% true because look at the average Yuvraj has 31 from 126 matches kaif has 35 from 97 matches far below than Sachin , Ganguly and Dravid. We are searching for new players it is a good step but i fear in the end we have to look towards Sachin and Dravid. For Ganguly it is hard to survive any more. I think worse is still to come because our golden boys are old now.
Looking at the ratings, i believe there is some partiallity towards players like Agarkar,J P Yadav. they surely deserve much higher rating than just mere 5/10. i think its time for kicking Nehra out as he is injury-prone and not delivering good. His fielding is also very bad.BCCI should stick to players like Agarkar,Pathan and Balaji rather than Zaheer and Nehra.

Its hard to believe that a team which was looking so good 1 year before is performing so poorly, and most disappointing thing is that from a population of more than 100 crores, we do not have enough talent to replace the out of form players. Look at the new players they picked up Venugopal rao, JP Yadav, Raina. All these players are not of international standard. They are just good for domestic cricket. I wonder where are Badani, Dinesh Mongia, Sriram, Rohan Gavaskar who are tested and not performed badly. We need to groom the player from very begining to suit the international game. Its high time that we analyse the whole situation and pick team based on current form. It should not be changed drastically, but 1 or 2 players at a time. I think Ganguly got enough chances, he doesn't deserve more.
The ratings have been done fairly well but all the talk of Ganguly facing the axe is quite unfair on the Indian Captain. He has proved that he is courageous and has backed the youngsters very well. At this moment he is the best person to lead India (whatever the results are) and should continue to hold the mantle of captaincy. It is just that he is going thru a rough patch and unfortunately it has been a bit too long. Dravid's rating was below par and is an injustice to one of the world's best batsmen. Otherwise the rankings looked perfect. Finally a message to the who's who of the Indian Cricket board. Please.........give our team somemore time to settle and lets not get into this chopping and changing just because we have lost in the finals a couple of times.
No Sourav should be kicked out, no one's place in team should be permanent. One should fight to earn it. And about ratings these ratings dont matter. But I agree with most of them. Dravid is by any means a better player and performer than Ganguly. May be Agarkar have been given better ranking. I also dont think Dravid is such player who won't perform under other captain because he wants to be captain. I think Ganguly should be given a long long rest and Dravid should be made captain for a year or so. He should be given time to prove his worth as captain. It's high time now people should stop thinking Rahul as a part time or make up captain. Things do change and they should !
The Rating is fine except Ganguly ,V.Rao and J.P.Yadav.Now it`s time where india to Build-up a good team under future Captain "Jimy,indian wall"followed by Mohd,Kaif "India Leopard " as VC atleast upto 2007 if India dreams to have a crown of world cup.Failure of captaincy can`t be determined with one chance for a passionate player.
