Please no Kaif
by Vip on Sep 11, 2005 01:10 PM

OKAY i uderstand that kaif got clean sheet in the zim tour. but one thing every body should look at is even though he manged to keep his sheet clean he also manged to cut the tempo of the game. he was there out on the ground when india is 155/2 on 25 overs and where did we reach. he is not at all a motivating player. which is a quality required to be a captain. and i do belive that dhoni should be pushed up in the line up to be an opener may be. but please no more parise of kaif.

adnan ghadiali
selection comminttee for world cup 07 and future series
by adnan ghadiali on Sep 11, 2005 12:44 PM

hello,
how many players are match winners in indian side ?
how many batsman and bowlers(no one)
first thing the selection committee of bcci are they capable of selecting good players? or just indian team are very good only on paper
if a match between india A team and india b team is played and if it is not fixed than i am sure the b team will win very easily.because players of b team
play more effective than A team.
i dont want to comment on ganguly because there will be no difference of playing him as a captain or player, if he scores 50 his strike rate is around 60 and so indian runrate will remain less after 50 overs.so oppositon will easily win.
sehwag : he is really a 6-7 number slogger and not a batsman who gets out and the team in trouble everytime.. if he was a good batsman than he should try to play 40 ov atleast 1-2 time in a series...
otherwise youngster must get chance.and he should be batting at 6. the best position where only sloggin is req
dravid and kaif are good 3-4 postion but they must increase there ability to hit sixes .yuvraj must increase consistency to make runs 30& 40s
yadav is another amarnath like allrounder capain must know how to use him

indian team!!
by gkg on Sep 11, 2005 09:53 AM

I am surprised people are talking about gangs!!
if he is left alone he will do alright...
and agarkar and nehra cannot be used in the same context...if nehra's performance is compared to anybodys you can find though nehra gets wickets .. others leak out runs and let people off the hook.
Pathan had done well so far...so i dont think nothing much is wrong with him.

We are so dramatic in life...we want sudden changes...
we are looking for players who will do well in future for this gangs is the man he can made Rahul what he is now.
He helped his career guess dravid has forgotten that..
overrated players...yuvraj,zaheer,....
not worth mentioning : agarkar, laxman, mongia

player for the future ...i dont think we have any right now!!

Team India Ratings/Capatiancy Issue.
by Tushar on Sep 11, 2005 07:11 AM

The current form of Team India in ODI Finals is highly pathetic. So in Order to correct the issue, Sourav Ganguly should be relieved of Capatiancy and a new Capatian should take-over. Having said that, Sourav Ganguly should be only be made a Test Captain for now.

Sourav Ganguly has to rebuild himself in order to stay in ODI matches, so he should be given chance at the Top Order to find his form and not just dropped.

The BCCI should look into a new ODI Captain ASAP given the dismal form of some players and rebuild the ODI Team at the earliest. They should emphasize on Results and also individual performance of its players. Thats All.

Prakash
Harbajan should be dropped
by Prakash on Sep 11, 2005 06:45 AM

Only in papers and by commentators voice , he is the wrold class spinner. Is he really deserve for this??
NO.

What he is doing for the last few months in the indian squad? He is not bowling well in the pitches where part time spinners are doing well. This was the case, earlier in srilanka and now in zim...

He is really in the team because of that 2001 series against Australia.

He must be dropped from oneday squad.

Our Cricket Team and Ratings.
by Deepankar Datta on Sep 10, 2005 11:40 PM

I believe the rankings are fare enough. The players who are failing to perform consistently should play one full Domestic cricket season. It will provide them the chance to improve upon their weakness. If they perform then they should be selected back to the Indian team.

I feel that our captain should lead from the front in this and play in the Domestic matches frequently specially during the off seasons of Indian Schedule. Infact the Board should make it mandatory for the players to play in these matches. Our players should
take example of the foreign players specially from Australia and England where they play their county matches even during their Cricket Schedule.

I am sure our players are world class and soon they will come to their best. But captain should immediately sit back if he fails to deliver in the upcoming test matches.

As far as Dravid is concerned, he should concentrate on his batting and forget Captaincy. He is too gentleman to handle our Indian Media and Cricket Crazy fans, who over react to even minor failures.

Kaif has been the find of the series, and has the potentiality to handle our team after World cup 2007.

Best of Luck to our team.

TEAM India ratings
by Krishnan--new delhi on Sep 10, 2005 10:29 PM

harish & Deepti's ratings are very much true of the Team India 's performance. Personally i feel in our Team India ,everybody wants to be "heroes" & this mentality is making them forget the very basics of the game & thus committing the "harakiri" of indian cricket. We need more players like Kaif, Yuvraj, Dhoni,Irfan who understand the essence of one day games & are continuously improvising their individual games as per the game situation at that stage..
Indian cricket badly needs players --- who approaCH the game with common sense.
Regards

India needs utility players than stars
by Amit Padwal on Sep 10, 2005 09:45 PM

The ratings seems Ok...But the problem lies in the basics...Our balling and batting is not clicking simultaneously...

Batting is very predictable..as Ganguly is boud to be out in 20's that too nowadays consuming double the balls than runs...then sehwag..in one dayers amzingly not consistant...but in big matches he fires for sure..dravid kaif...same kind of batsmen good players..but when time comes you need consistently more than 6 runs per over they cant win match for you...so one of them should be chopped...Mind well I have very high regards for dravid as a player...But you need utility players in one dayers than gr8s who can achive win as a team...just like Shrilanka...Also attack is also monotonous..no surprise element like sheer pace...who will turn things around when things are not going right for you...more than Agarkar, RP Singh Munaf Patel..India's fastest baller deserves chance here..more than anything else...Selectors need to be smart now as they are eying 2007 world cup...Pick the best utility players available in the country...Why not Ramesh Powar of mumbai than Harbhajan...He is more utility player than him...and can win matches for you as lower order batsman...
