when was the last time we saw the captain playing a good innings(for the team! not for himself).Its bee too long a time to blame it on his form.Its high time he should quit acting as a model & spend more time in the nets! A captain has to be considered a player first.Unless his record as a skipper is exceptionally good, its not enough to justify his prescence in the team if he is not performing.Ganguly's credentials cant even justify his inclusion on this ground.A 50% career record is pretty average for the worlds biggest cricket nation. The problem here is our selection committee.Th same old non performing players are still there.And why does India have to compromise with playing Zaheer, Agarkar, nehra etc.How come India hasnt yet produced a express pace bowlerwhile every other team has atleast one such bowler,if not more. Only a few guys in our team actually play for the pride of the nation like Dravid,Pathan Kaif. For the rest its a part time job(Business)
Losing finals is getting over board now. BCCI should pass a mandatory to fine all plyers for losing any final. May be this could bring change in the players to atleast fight hard for their money if not for otherwise(their country).
I feel Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Md. Kaif, Ashish Nehra, Agarkar, Harbhajan Singh and M.S. Dhoni are non-performing bits and pieces cricketers and our hero Saurav Ganguly is their non-performing ring leader. I feel sorry for Ganguly that his team consists of more than half nonperforming players and the whole janatha is after him, blaming him and accusing him for India's losses. You can't expect Ganguly to win matches for India. After all he is the most aggressive nonperforming ring leader and has shameless high profile nonperforming products endorsing businessmen in his team!! No wonder Rahul is not without any motivation right now. And you selectors, a bunch of jokers keep VVS Laxman out of the team(one of the World's Top 10 ODI batsmen for 2004). A player of his class always plays in the team with the fear of being dropped for the next series. Drop him for Amay khurasia in 1999. Drop him for Dinesh Mongia in 2003. Drop him for his AGE and FIELDING for 2007. Look at the fielding of domestic cricket standard players like Ashish Nehra, Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh(on an average he cleanly collects every 3rd time the ball comes to him). How can you drop Kumble? Have fear of God!!
Yet again it is the same old story of our captain rueing the teams' defeat. The entire cricketing nation is upset with the performance of our players and instead of the captain and the players, we start thinking of the gap between our team and a final victory. To me, it is in the team selection where there should be some immediate and bold changes to be made. What happened to players like DINESH MONGIA and HEMANG BADANI? Will selectors have an eye on them only when they are 30-32? When Mongia is consistently performing in England and Badani is well known for his batting and excellent fielding those two players should be given preference to Venugopal Rao and Suresh Raina. Only when there is no politics and regional bias when selecting a team and the captain Team India can win finals. It is the apt time to axe Ganguly and handover the captaincy back to Dravid. The way Dravid got out in the series itself tells how far he is demoralised. He should be honoured properly, because he works like a machine for TEAM INDIA. GIVE TOP MOST PRIORITIES IN SELECTION AND AVOID REGIONAL BIAS - This is my message to the Selectors of our team.
Ganguly asks everyone in the team to forget about the previous finals and takes all the decisions himself depending on the previous finals.. Is n't it rubbish
- Let us understand one fact that this is one patriotic personality who has brought the team to understand what teamwork is. - Yes he might be on his lowest ebb in his career right now, but we should not take away the he is the one captain india has seen commanding a respect from the opposition not only for himself but also for the team. - Let us not forget one main fact, that most number of players(regardless of caste, creed,state,zone etc.) have been given the chance to prove their worth, by this great man called Saurav Ganguly, unlike other former captains who have absolutely biased and zone based(specially the captains who were from maharashtra). - There are players in this team who should not forget the fact, that but for saurav, they would not have seen the daylights, and would have quitely retired like some greats (abdul jabbar),who have been the victims of bias and regionalism. - Saurav and Dravid have been victims.they should have come into Indian Cricket seven years before they actually made it. - come on team members, owe it all to this gentleman saurav and proove it. - And if you cannot then Saurav all I have to say is quit gracefully.
