Kudos to Kaif.....! Once again it was proved that if one sticks to the basics and play with the straight bat without experimenting too much, any target can be chased.Once again it was proved that rotating strikes and keeping cool is the best way to chase a big target. Once again it was proved that to chase a big total, a team needs at least one big partnership ane big contribution from one of the batsman with support from other ends. Once again it was proved that a team keeps six to seven wickets in tact till 40th over, big totals can be chased by hitting in the slog overs.Once again itwas proved that the above basics are true even in this age of power play.
After the pathetic 65 against zim, Kaif came up with good show against the Newzealand. This is way a batsman should play at No.3. Not like simply blocking the ball as he did against the relatively weak side Zim've.
What's Harbajan is doing !!!!! Time to find alternate spinner for OneDay Matches.
while describing the number of wickets taken by the indian bowlers were written wrong in figures in the second last paragraph and right in words. Also, in the very begining of the coloumn wickets taken by nehra and pathan are mentioned with error. I will suggest to write the coloumn with right figures and bit of patience.
Looks like Indians have not understood the Super substitute concept at all. It is foolish to go for a bowler as a SuperSub when the playing XI already has 5 fulltime bowlers. It is common sense to go in with a batsman as a SuperSub in such a scenario.
