ONE WHO SAYS GANGULY A BAD CRICKETER DOESN'T KNOW WHAT'S CRICKET ALL ABOUT...AS SIMPLE AS THAT!
by hari on Nov 02, 2005 05:40 PM

Well guys,

I dont undersatand few of the guys reaction to the article critcising Ganguly. Its a shame that people have such a short memories. They should look at his stats that itself speaks abt him. It was this guy who took the capitancy in such a difficult situation when Sachin accepted his inability to lead the team. Had Ganguly not sacrificed his opening slot bcos of the teams stability, Sehwag would have never been what he is now...Ganguly has done so many things to the team, this is the guy who has given the dual role to play for Dravid when he was almost out of ODI's. This is the guy who made India beleive that it could win abroad as well. And i feel probably this is the reason why he is out, he should have done the same thing as sachin did (leaving Indian capitancy bcos he was not able to concentrate on his game), infact Dada should have been selfish and should have never given up the opening slot. But who cares isn't it, not even a single senior colleagues has raised voice for him, especially Mr Dravid. This is the most shameful act that selectors could ever do, they couldn't even justify to the media. Ofcourse it again proves that they r bunch of jokers.....

Indian team without Ganguly
by R SUBRAMANIAN on Nov 02, 2005 03:03 PM

Practice makes the man perfect; the ideology is followed by the DADA quite late. Gaguly was recognized as a phenomena since he in cricket. Hence Game comes the first and foremost than individual. Any how, DADA is now a days busy at nets and also planning to play in domestic cricket. It is a healthy sign to prove himself as fit for cricket. Moreover, understanding with a coach, whosoever he may be, is a primaface for a good balanced player. Let us hope a place in Indian team for him quite soon.

Cheers to chappel
by Satish vakati on Nov 02, 2005 02:59 PM

This guy aint better than a delicate girl while fielding the cricket ball, he thinks that diving will injure him and will leave him outta coupla games, losing him money and a place in the indian side. This (ganguly getting dropped) should have hapenned a long time back, to put up with him , the indian team had to stare at defeat so many times. Thanks to chappel, he's working towards eradicating politics in cricket, which will give a fair chance to youngsters all over to get into the team on cricket merit and not on "economic merit".
cheers to chappel

Rejection steels Ganguly

It should be as he has the modest responsibility to prove that the man who has been leading 'Team India'for last five years is made of steel and he was not a wrong choice. He is superb in his position and as a player he is above the ordinaries. I strongly believe that the class of a superstar is exposed when he is under pressure and his class is questioned. It will be not only good for Sourav but also for millions of his fans throughout the country.

I feel that the responsibility lies with the person suggested him not to participate in the Challenger trophy. Had he been there the story would have been otherwise. In last three ODIs who have performed so far? Sachin-the great, Dravid-the best bat, Pathan-lion hearted and proven genious and lastly Dhoni-already proved against Pakistan. No new guy and we are playing in home grounds. Sourav should not loose heart rather the idol of East Zone should be more stubborn to inspire the grooming cricketers of this vast areas. Our goodwishes are with you. I also feel that he should not be after the Captaincy rather he himself should ask Dravid to be the Captain for Test series also. He should remain in the team as an honoured senior.

Who benefits from Ganguly´s omission?
by Mathew on Oct 31, 2005 06:10 PM

As per this article "Rejection steels Ganguly", Ganguly said that he would score centruries in Domestic cricket. If he thinks that scoring centuries could keep him in the race for a slot in the Indian cricket team, then why ddidnt he score centuries against good teams in international cricket in the past six months

It is upto Ganguly to decide as on what basis he should get a place in the cricket team, whom should he replace ?

No Ganguly In Future
by Ayush Anand on Oct 31, 2005 06:09 PM

Team India has been doing well under Dravid's and Sachin 's leadership. Whether there is Ganguly or no Ganguly it doesn't matter. I feel hat he is finished and has also got old. One thing everyone is gotto realize is that he cannot last till 2007 World Cup, so waste his spot, inpite it should be given to a promising youngster. I think the Coach Greg Chappel is dong the right thing by being a bit harsh with players. Ganguly and Zaheer khan have too much of attitude and ego problems. I think that if a player can't adjust with the coach and his other team players then he should be surely kicked out.
On the other hand I also feel that selectors should bring in Ganguly for the last two matches and make him play and let him proves his point. If he can't perform in these two matches, then he would have everything against him. Then atleast nobody cab say that he wasn't even given a chance. And if he performs then he should be selected.
Some people who are in the favour of Ganguly talk about his record. Well i would like to ask them to see the record of Ganguly in 2004 and in 2005. Look at his average of these two years. I am sure Irfan Pathan has a better average than him.

its not fair about selectors decision on ganguly
by M.J.Phani Kumar on Oct 31, 2005 02:19 PM

What an Indian's we are!!!.Once again our selectors proved that they are perfect Indians(Indians never like and respect Indians). When Chappel took charge
our selectors forget about the past.Look once back, when India in a dilema who gave a hand to lift Indian cricket to peak my dear selectors. Its not a good attitude of board towards The prince of Calcutta(Sorry India),A match winner.Ignoring GAnguly is very bad bad bad bad bad bad bad.Oh god help the Indian cricket. Finally my dear selectors we are true indian fans and there is a limit for every thing after that we cannot bare any bad practices of board.

too little, too late ?
by ssr on Oct 30, 2005 07:15 PM

...maybe ganguly should've done all this hard work at the nets a little earlier in the day ! especially given the fact that there've always been reports about his lack of effort at the nets, especially during breaks in international games & off-season.
