It was utterly disgusting for ESPN-STAR to stoop down to levels of calling such ludicrous statements to someone who is as big a celebrity for Pakistan as "Sachin Tendulkar" is for India. (Remember the Shoaib vs. Sachin duel-isms). It was only inevitable for Shoaib to feel indignant.
I was shocked when I read (on rediff.com) the comments they blurted (be it impulsively or facetiously - but the point is different). It's disgraceful, distasteful and certainly not something that could be burked with a mere apology.
I don't think I could blame the man's wrath. Shame on you ESPN-STAR.
i heard the comments made by the reporter on shoaib akhtar, which did not sound well to me also. Its not because i m a big admirer of akhtar, but the remarks (made in our "desi language"), were totally uncalled for. now when the rawalpindi express has made his mind to pursue the course of law, the sports channel would have to face the consequenses. The channels, and the so-called experts too, should be very specific, pertinent and choosy while uttering words for or against any individual.

Can somebody throw more light on what exactly was said, and by whom, which has made Akhtar irate?
