There is no way one could take away the credit from Sachin or Irfan. They took their chances and gave India a heady start.
But what all these would have meant but for Dravid who stayed till the end, blamed without blemish and showed that a strike rate of 134% was possible without showmanship.
That he made 85 out of 63 balls and stayed till the end is certainly more creditable than any other performance in the match.
More significantly, Dravid's game plan of keeping one hitter accompanied by another steady player must be viewed as a winning strategy. In fact India needs to do this in every match.
May be, there is one more thing that one would still like to see India doing. Just train our bowlers to use 40 over old ball. Think of the number of matches that slipped out of the fingers of Indian bowlers during the last five or 10 overs.
India played a gallant innings, in deed ! Sorry for Sachin... Irfan should blossom as a breat allrounder. Dravid and Dhoni played great innings !! Bajji iced the cake soon after SL started to establish. Great going, keep it up, boys !!!!! Dr. K. Mallick
