Cricket Coach can not be like a Football Coach who decides who plays when and where. Sachin is just 32 and Mr Greg Chappal should not dictate his position. He should be allowed to play at will at position of choice. Sachin is intelligent enough to decide what to do when, he is real team man who helps others. He is not Dravid who recalled him at 195 just to show that he is captain.

Sports medicine in the US have evolved considerably, allowing players to increaase thier playing time both quantitatively and qualitatively. In India this is not even a possibility as this specialty is non-existent.

Why such discrimination?
by Mridul Bansal on Oct 24, 2005 06:04 PM

Ironical that one pillar (Saurav Ganguly) is out of the team and is trying to show is mentel by playing Ranji Trophy, other (Sachin Tendulkar) is sitting pretty, though he has not contributed since long long time.

Why such discrimination?
Is it the Chappel Factor or politics that is acting as an obstacle from ganguly being taken back into the side?

But, who really cares when the men in blue are in blushes. I beleive people are concentrating more on the new youth icon, yes u guessed right .... SANIA MANIA.

Pls share views on mridul_bansal@rediffmail.com

Playing for India is special: Tendulkar

Its one of those moments when couple of years younger cricket enthusiast like me feel "10du is BACK".An outstanding player & real team player. Although therere enough stories about he being sidelined by Ganguli, we all believe that he is a player with talent and he eats, breaths & lives cricket. Playing for India is always great & special moment whether it is Sachin Tendulkar or Sachin of Gali cricket in Mumbai, Thane, Delhi or any town village of India. Whats more encouraging is master blaster will reappear for SECOND term something like dream come true. Though it is not equivalent to the time of US BUSH & CARY elections or British Elections its much more to Million fans across India who look at Sachin as one of them. He is an actual reflection of Middle class family member who showed by mere playing cricket how one ordinary boy can become a great Cricket ICON.My personal opinion one should give Sachin time to perform & should not expect to hit Tons everytime.Recovering from injury & facing challenge to meet everybodys expectation is challenge by itself.Everybody knows he is human being & still expects him to hit Six on every ball.Be patient he will produce result

Playing for India is special

Yes playing for India is special - very very special. Especially when the hopes of a billion fans rest on you and the ten other blokes that take the field. A billion fans that put everything else aside to watch you live on the telly, who despair when you disappoint and party when you win. Do Sachin and his teammates really care about these sentimental fans or is this a part of a well rehearsed speech? (Playing for India is special.)
Already the interest in cricket is waning ( a lot of guys I know have stopped "wasting" their time watching a match on TV). So Sachin, Saurav and Co. there is much more to cricket than power, ego and money. So keep us all in mind, when you decide to "get back in form" and please dont waste 50 balls without scoring - there are a lot of people looking up to you with a lot of hope.
