every player have thier poor perfomances in thier carrier including great players like sachin also faced the same problem.But now indians n indian cricket board avoided ganguly from capitancy i think its not a correct decission taken by selectors.Because he is the person capable for that post.
Nice to learn that Ganguly is declared fit. Let him now concentrate in making good Bangal and East Zone teams, and inspire younger players to achieve. That would be his good contribution to Indian cricket. Hankering for a place in Indian team at the cost of a young player will look odd for Ganguly. I am always a fan of Ganguly. Im my opinion, I feel that he was underestimated player by his critics. Even Sachin have not performed well in the challenger series. Then y he was picked. If not Ganguly y sachin who is also not performing. When a caption is not performing, it is not that he is not a good player. Same thing happened to Kapil in the past - he is also a successful caption of his time. Remember only Ganguly and Kapil brought India to world cup final.
Our people never give due respect to great players. Only some like sachin gets that respect, inspite of his underperformance. Mind it he never performed in key matches in his life. But he was given all the respect in life. All mumbai players are given over preference. Another example is Ajit Agarkar who is now for his poor performance. Y is that ?????

Hats off to Ganguly! Besides being an astute and aggressive captain, he has also, over the past few months showed the bigwigs in the Indian Cricket Board that he is a gifted Personal Mananger as well. From sly, tongue-in-the-cheek revelations to the media, to magnifyiong a niggle in his elbow that he has managed to tag as a tennis elbow (whatever that means), he has mananged to keep himself afloat. A master in basking in past glory and stats, Ganguly would do well to work out strategies for bowlers (both domestic and international) who have "worked him out" as a batsman. Plug the offside and and you have him in a couple of overs caught at deep fine leg. Simple. Instead of wasting time shuttling between Mimbai and Kolkata, he should get together with Greg and work on redeeming his form. Having said this , it would be hard to prove that I am a die-hard Ganguly fan, who only wishes to see him cover drive all the allegations and rust away!
I guess Ganguly has never taken a domestic as seriously as he is going to take this. You might see some selfish cricket from him but that is understandable. He is trying to resurrect his career and this would be a very important match for him. His East Zone team mates would suffer though.
I donot know why you people pay too much importance about the old players. The players like Ganguly Tendulkars should not represnt india any more. They are players of the past. India should select players who can make winning records for India, not for Individual glory or records. They were good players. They got ample opportunities to play for India, and to make too much money for themselves.
That should be the end of it. Money brings ego and complacency. Players must be selected only on the basis of current form not for any other consideration.
There are plenty of talented yougsters who can make India proud. Selectors must be honest couragious to select only the fully fit and talented palyers. Selectors action must not give any degree of suspicion talent is ignored. If India fails to win matches means it is the failure of selectors and and selectors must take full responsibilty and muist resign.
We must say "Thanq you & no vacancy to players like M/s Ganguly and Sachins.
