Hole in Ganguly's Boat.

How did Ganguly bring about this Situation of "Sinking"? It was his own making is not to be doubted. At the end of that day when he made that famous Century in the First Test at Zimbabwe when he was asked "is it true that you were asked to 'STEP DOWN'" by that Media Man he had TWO Options to reply.

First was to retort "Where do you get such Questions from?" thus snipping it at the bud. Alternately he could have said "there is no truth in it". However he said, smiling, "yes". This way he made the HOLE in his OWN BOAT! Now the Captain is 'Sinking'.

There can be No Doubt as to if any one else could have 'leaked' the conversation since our Prince did not answer in the Negative.

Bad job selectors

Bad job selecttors. Ganguly is the only captain, I have seen in my life who have won most test matches abroad, whether in West Indies, first series victory in Pakistan, first series victory in zimbabwe after 19 years, win in sri lanka, magical test win in australia. It was Ganguly\'s agressive attitude than anything else which made him survive for 5 long years. I still remember maintaining eye to eye contact with steve waugh, when they travel india in 2001 and because of this dynamic body language and agressive attitude, ganguly earned the stature as the most successful india captain in Test Cricket. In one day Cricket, I think he is a poor captain, because he kept looking finals one after another from the year 2000 and couldn\'t find any solutions to tackle it even after loosing 19 finals in a row, which is unacceptable. So I think there should be a seperate captain for one day and Test, which will do justice to everyone including Sourva Ganguly.

Batting form affected Ganguly

Over two years India is reduced to a 10-man team due to poor batting by Ganguly, once a versatile batsman ! The Selection Committee and BCCI are the culprits to indirectly humiliate Ganguly by retaining him as Captain after his batting has eclipsed. Under such a mental condition Ganguly adopted unfair tactics as Greg, the new coach, has mentioned in his devastating e-mail exposure. A good player need to leave the game with grace. Ganguly failed to do so, perhaps with the some unfair backing.
BCCI does not have the culture of protecting national players. Players like Sanjay Manjrekar, Navjot Sidhu, S.S. Das and Debasish Mohanty who made India proud by their performances are almost forgotten at a very young age !!

Bye Bye Ganguly
by Prabhakar Komaravolu on Oct 14, 2005 12:53 PM

For all that this man has done for Indian cricket, he requires a decent cricket burial. All the best Ganguly and we look forward to seeing you in some commentary position. It was time for him to walk into the sunset anyway.
Prabhakar Komaravolu.
