Dravid's Captaincy
by krishna on Oct 14, 2005 09:00 PM

Those who say that Dravid does not show flair in batting are those who feel that remixes are better than the original! Dravid is a classic batsman and that shows in just two strokes that he plays, one the cover drive and the other the classic ondrive. Only those who have played cricket and appreciate this can discern how exquisitely beautiful his batting is. Let us understand Rahul's game and appreciate it for what it is rather than try to compare it with that of others, who are of a different mould. Incidentally,Ganguly when on song, is a lovely offside player too.

Dravid reaps captaincy reward

The one goodness about Dravid is he does not allow his batting form to get affected , when he is a captain- and now in Australia with so many successful Austalians to give him Tips, he would definitely be successful. Let us all wish him luck and best wishes instead of trying to figure whether is from south or north or southwest.

Rahul Dravid as Captain
by S.G.Nath on Oct 14, 2005 12:22 PM

It is excellant decision . Few things need to be done in grooming the team members to be under his leadership. A leader mission and vision should be carried on by Team India. No individual focus.

Dear Dravid,
This could be the greatest credit to your calibre. For the first time you had been named captain for two complete series.I hope with your cricketing brain you will able to bring the players together and in the process bring India back to winning streak in one day international. You have taken the leadership in the crucial juncturewith the world cup in view in another one year.So you must try and bring back the unity in the team and all of you must perform in a unit.I hope many younsters will be backed by you.Best of luck for your new venture.I know you will triumph in this.
Best of luck
Sejian

Dravid not the right choice for captaincy
by Pradeep Gaikwad on Oct 14, 2005 10:50 AM

Nobody can deny the fact that Dravid has an enviable record as a batsman and has saved the country a lot of blushes in the past. Captaincy, however, is not his cup of tea. Demands of modern day cricket are pretty stiff on a skipper and you need someone with wit, grit, ambition and a big mouth with the ability to unsettle the opposition long before Zahir bowls the first ball. Dravid's sudden loss of form after Saurav regained the captaicy is alos worth a study. Is he really above team politics? In any case, I think he is too mild for a moder day captain and with a billion fans craving for success in India, I think DRavid should step down and concentrate on his batting.
