The injury (ofcourse, not faked)has come to the rescue of Ganguly who is out of sorts in batting and fielding and captancy!!! If he fails to score (any how he knows he cannot score except against Zim or Bangladesh, that too with labour pains)he can escape the axe! That is, by not playing, he cannot score a Duck and hence cannot be out of the Captancy by not playing at all in Ranji etc. Nice tacktiks.
Hi Ganguly has been advised rest for 10 days hence he would miss the challenger trophy. I would say Ganguly can hang his shoes as far as test cricket is concerned.He can concentrate on Oneday which will not be that Taxing on his fragile physique. That will provide us a match winning opener for the oneday format and when fielding and bowling comes we can use the super ub instead of Ganguly and finally all the above suggestion mean that Ganguly should gracefully quit as captain of india from both forms of cricket.Either Sachin or Kaif should be made as captain.I can justify Sachin's selection as he is experienced and with a team that expects him to be a cricket player and not superman as how he was expected to be in his previous tenure. Kaif is not a surprise element bcoz he is the future indian cricket.His temperament and ability to take responsibilities augur well for him.We can groom him for captaincy. Sehwag,Yuvraj and Dravid as captains will spoil the party because both sehwag and yuvraj are crude and lack imagination in case of dravid he is as cool as a Cow so he does not fit the bill.
