Future of Indian Team
by Amrit on Dec 03, 2005 02:56 PM

Its really unfortunate for the Indian team that a world class player and the most successful captain getting a treatment like this. And most of all no one is protesting at this.I believe that the selectors does not have the standard of Ganguly's.Some of them have never seen International Cricket. And Mr.More well we know what is he....
Players like Gaveskar,KapilDev,Patil,Sastri have the right to point at Ganguly.I am sure that Mr.chapell would quit 6 months before the world cup coz he is an Australian and only team India are the one whom the Aussie's fear.

Improved Perfomance of Indian Cricket Team
by N Mahanaim on Dec 02, 2005 02:57 PM

If Ganguly was not able to perform over a year, what guarantee he can perform in the future; Indian cricket needs tough decision making couch of Chappells caliber. The experience on Indian couch has raised Indian teams performance the recent past. Lets hope the couch does not succumb to Indian politics, but continue to deliver honestly to the cause of Indian cricket. Well done Greg!!

Ganguly may sit out in the first test
by Lakkshmi on Dec 02, 2005 11:29 AM

It is quite unfortunate that the Indian cricket is ruled by the Ugly Australian. First of all Greg Chapell should thank 'Dada'. It was 'Dada' who insisted that Chapell should become the Indian coach. The indian cricket should be proud of 'Dada' who inducted killer instinct among the Indian team. virendra shewag would not have been in the team if 'Dada' has not insisted. he promoted the talents and brought indian team to a great stature. You can not expect a player to score always. If that is the case, then tendulkar must have been dropped, dravid should have been dropped and each and every player should have been dropped. To treat Ganguly like this is a shame to Indian cricket. 'Dada' made a biggest mistake in his life by bringing Chapell thinking that it would be good for the Indian cricket and fell on his own trap. Chapell says that ganguly is playing 'Divide and Rule' policy but actually the GREAT COACH of the indian team is doing it. I wish chapell who has the tendency of 'divide and Rule' policy should be KICKED OUT as the Indian coach and the way he acted in Kolkatta is a shame to indian cricket.

At least respect Ganguly
by RP on Dec 02, 2005 10:39 AM

Whether Ganguly is in or out, we should respect the hero. He has a lot of contribution for iNdian Cricket. As far as the ODI & Test Records are concerned it is even better than Rahul Dravid. As a Captain he is the best for India. I think the presentation of Chappel is in such a cricket manner, he is now out from the team. Let this the selection committee realize. We should not go by wrong analysis, we should analyse the fact. Please compare the records of Ganguly with any other person whom you consider the best and fittest. The selection process should be fair. There is something wrong with the selection process.

Sehvag should be rested and Ganguli should be opted
by SANJEEV RANA on Dec 02, 2005 12:29 AM

I strongly recommend the inclusion of Ganguli in place of Sehvag, Further Greg Chappel can not have the double standard when its a matter of Ganguli then he talks about the performance, if follow this Sehvag and Sachin should be rested and others who are in form must be given the chance irespetive of satatus(junior/senior).

Rohit M Gaikwad
no doubt ganguly should be included
by Rohit M Gaikwad on Dec 01, 2005 04:23 PM

there is no doubt about the ganguly's inclusion for the 1st test against srilanka. he should be definitely favoured looking at his career statistics against the srilankans. selectors surely don't want to mess up with the winning combination, but saurav deserves a place atleast ahead of chopra, kaif & yuvraj in the long form of the game.
My team:
1.Gautam Gambhir
2.Virender Sehwag
3.Rahul Dravid (C)
4.Sachin Tendulkar
5.Saurav Ganguly
6.V.V.S.Laxman
7.Dhoni (WC)
8.Irfan Pathan
9.Anil Kumble
10.Ashish Nehra
11.Harbhajan Singh

Selectors(especially kiran more) do consider this team for the 1st test.

If Ganguly is a bowler then Agarkar is a batsman!
by Muralidhar Rao on Dec 01, 2005 01:29 PM

Bring Ganguly as a bowler? Are you crazy M Chayya? Ganguly is known for his batting and not for his bowling. M. Chayya, Ganguly has taken only 25 wickets in 84 tests at an average of over 50 runs. Do you call that bowling? Then do you consider Agarkar as a batsman? If Ganguly can't be included as a batsman then he should be booted out. We are not talking about a saturday morning club match here. There is no room for any sentiments or compassion. The best eleven plays and there should be no kind of compromise. There is no room for preferential treatment anymore. That was the case yesterday when the buzzard Dalmiya was in charge. But now he is gone along with 3 of his rubber stamp selectors. Now Chappell is in charge and Australians don't feel sorry for their own greats like the Waugh brothers who were also shown the door without mercy.

Saurav & his Chance
by Suman Talukdar on Dec 01, 2005 12:34 PM

If Saurav is not selected for the test XI then he should not have been selected. A person who has performed in the past and has set the winning tone in Australia, to name the few should be either selected in XI squad or should have been left out.
Can you keep in Sachin inspite of his run drought.
Infact Indians should learn to respect its heroes.
