First, let us learn to accept success and failure with an even head.
What value is it when the match is noncompetitive or evenly contested, which happens when the pitch is not a quality one ?
Look at Pakistan, our neighbour who have been providing batting wickets during the current series with England. Compare that with what happened in Mumbai, when Australia was here in India last time. It was a wretched pitch, on which a victory is shameful as an International cricketing nation. That too we won because luckily Shane Warne was not in the team. Had he been there we could have lost by few wickets. Bangalore and Chennai picthes were also turning tracks unconducive to good quality cricket
Let us take a leaf out of Pakistan's book and start being positive right from the word go. Let us have good quality wickets that would be 65-35 in favour of batsmen for the first 3 days and begin to be 60-40 in favour of bowlers for the last two days in any Test match. Let us provide pitches that are 65-35 in favour of batsmen throughout the match, for One day internationals. Otherwise let us forget about being world beaters if we continue to depend on turning tracks for our victories
We all know what Boucher is upto. I think that it is a pure case of Diarrohea of the Mouth. Poor guy. I think that it is contagious as Graeme Smith had it earlier.Raking up the Ganguly issue to gain advantage. What a cheap Jack. Kolkata should be banned as a venue for years to come.Dravid , like gavaskar should stay away from playing in Kolkata. Ganguly will be booed and jeered in the Tests if at all he plays. Oh Kolkata, the rest of India will make you pay for this very dearly.
Boucher might be Good in judging the distance to stand behind the Stumps. But he has to really learn how to speak when behind the Mike. He talks of Ganguly, D/N Matches, Pitches, Toss etc. at a Pre Match Press Meet! - All of which we know already. Why talk of World Cup 2003 now in which his Country did not even reach the Finals despite being played at their Home Ground!
Perhaps their was this nagging fear that the Final Match could go against them!
