India Think Tank-Needs to Think again
by Rajeev on Nov 26, 2005 02:35 PM

Too much of experiment are very dangarous. It was another failure for Sachin. This according to me has happened earlier also that he plays two good innings and then keeps on getting out on below avarage scores. Look at Lara the way he has played ye'day. We all expect that sachin passes all that landmark very quickly.

About the last one day at Mumbai, playing against the top teams, In my opinion the history is not in India's favour.

I await the replies to the above. Correct me...If I am wrong

shocking behaviour from calcuttans!!
by prashant sharma on Nov 26, 2005 02:18 PM

it is shocking. are we a regionally biased nation? what sort of people can boo their own country?

shocking that players like tendulkar and dravid were booed! such people and communities should be branded as anti national, and such centres should not be allowed to host an international game at all.

as far as saurav ganguly is concerned, he is NOW a miserable failure with the bat and will do only politics in the team.

shame on such anti national 'fans.'

Bad Omen
by P. Fernandes on Nov 26, 2005 01:53 PM

The selection of saurav ganguly in the indian cricket team itself has proved to be a bad omen to the team which was doing so well prior. Tahts the reason why in my previous comment I had said that his presence in the team is bound to spell doom to the indian cricket

Tht's the way people are....
by Sri Harsha K on Nov 26, 2005 12:43 PM

When do we Indians realize tht we need to think in a broader sense. Think abt the nation rather than abt individuals. It's ridiculous to think tht sourav would have stemmed the rot, if he was in the team.

Think different people....think out of the box....don't become like a frog in a well.

And greg,we need to seriously think abt our middle order!!!

Yes this is very unfortunate about 3rd ODI against S.Africa.But everything has to be digest in Cricket. There is no doubt about it that the perfomance of Team India was very shameful - but what about the Pitch, which is not a cup of tea for ODI.Again if every estate demand their own playe for the game - just think about, fair Cricket wount be in India.

Eden Gardens jeers India failure

Sourav's precense in the match would have done, no difference at all. But by not containing him gives some opportunity to youngsters to prove, also putting Saurav's 10,000 on the posters you can't win matches. He is no more an elegant batsman, if Sachin,Dravid or ... continues the same form, let selectors drop them as well.

Oh, Mahesh!

Do you carry the crystal ball? Stop predicting whether things would have been different if Sourav was present. If you personally feel Sourav does not command the cricketing language anymore, then jolly well forget him. He's not in the team anyway. After the performances of the master blaster & the arty Captain.........who would you select for the team? Do you have an eleven in mind? Why not try & list them...........instead of sulking & talking crap about what could / would have happened if Sourav was in the team?

This guy is absolutely right. Wait and see the next innings of Sourav. I am damn sure he will not cross 10. We have been seeing Sourav (for that matter most of the Indian players) for ages and he is notorious for his inconsistency. Bengalis should first learn to respect our country (referring to those who booed our team at Eden Gardens). What if the selectors re-appoint their so called "dada" back as captain. People in Bangalore start to boo our team. This never ends. Be matured guys. Ganguly ain't useful for the team anymore.

Shame on kolkatta ...
by gm on Nov 26, 2005 11:51 AM

There is so much to regionalism and parochial sentiments. Shame on kolkotans to eschew nationalism and plunge to the depths of jeering and booing their own team.

Sad that it comes from a section of country that was once the pinnacle of literary and cultural movement. All that remains now is a society plagued by trade unions, regionalism and nothingness. Grow up and embrace the new world people!

Wad else can lsoers do
by Rakesh Narayan on Nov 26, 2005 09:30 AM

Well I dont think this has anything to do with Saurav or anybody. Its just that the crowd is born loser. They just cant stand losing a match against SL or Paki, remember those horrible incidents. Man Eden Gardens become a disgrace of a venue.
Sauravs performance merit his selction, Im sure his removal motivated him to introspect and do well. Cmon who isnt a Saurav fan, what we are not, is zealots. Kudos to Chappell for showing the right finger to a bunch of morons.

Petty-mindedness of you Bengalis...
by Cricket Lover on Nov 26, 2005 08:56 AM

Dear Bengalis,
This outburst from you clearly shows what a narrow-minded bunch of people you are. According to a Bengali spectator Sujoy Saha 'Okay Sourav has been kept out. But is the team doing any better without him here?' which means he agrees that Indian performances were as bad as the one in Kolkata when Sourav was around. One failure makes you guys go so mad, eh? Another fan Rohit Dutta says, 'Sourav is being missed sorely. He carries so much pressure on him. He could have stemmed the rot.' Mr. Rohit Dutta, Sachin and Rahul Dravid carry EVEN more pressure on them, yet they perform a lot more consistently then your Dada. And let me tell you another thing, if Sourav was around we would have probably been all-out for less than 100. He doesn't CARRY pressure, he brings pressure with him. The Indian team is much better off without him. In the last 10 matches, we've won 7 and lost 3 under Dravid's captaincy. Under Sourav, it would've probably been 4 wins, 6 losses. Thats what he has been bringing since the World Cup, pressure and ridicule. So keep your dirty hands off Rahul Dravid and let him build a team for the future. If he has to endure a few losses on the way, it is fine.
