ganguly the world class player
by hamsini on Nov 26, 2005 02:13 PM

ganguly has proved by performing in ranji trophy matchs that he is a world class player.but any way excluding him in the onedayers is pure politics.the indian selectors , if they focus on only the form of the players then it should be applicable for all the players including senior players in the team(without partiality).only then a good indian cricket team can be formed. ganguly the most successful Indian captains is selected in the test side..this is very happy but could have been little more earlier..

Ganguly

Why is only Ganguly being targeted? Sachin has been underperforming through out and in between when he scores a ton or a half; he is praised for his consistency! What has happened to us? Why are we forgetting Gangulys contribution? His mere presence makes our players more aggressive and confident. Dravid is just a classy defensive player and not a one day player. Friends support Ganguly the prince of Calcutta.

Nice selection
by Dhiman on Nov 25, 2005 07:14 PM

A great cricketer like Ganguly should be in the team. He is also plying good domestic cricket. It is very much surprising, we completely forgot the past. It is nothing but we are selfish. For last five years he has been the captain and most of the present cricketers of the team has played a lot with Ganguly. Greg Chappel is doing very nice job with the team but his ego and thereby treating a great player in this way can not be supported. Where was Greg, when Ganguly make the concept of TEAM INDIA. We should not forget those things and the same opinion has been made by Ranatunga also.

Getting Ganguly for Test
by thangaraju on Nov 25, 2005 11:37 AM  | Hide replies

This is merely a politics. It is weird that nobody come to street to stop this kind of attitude. All guys watching the cricket in the street tvs, and at home and we used to great feel when we lose or win. And now we are doing good and Ganguly is in to spoil the mentality of people as well as coach. Selectors are politicians. This has been proved proved.

I was very shocked to see the manners in which cricket fans in Kolkata protested over Ganguly's exclusion. "No Ganguly No cricket" is just too much.
They don't deserve to be "cricket fans", they are just Ganguly fans.
Bengalis worship Dada as their demi-God. Believe me I have even seen Bengalis cursing Indian team to lose during the recent Srilanka-India series only because Saurav was not in the team.

Saurav Ganguly is a tough guy !
by Dr. Cajetan Coelho on Nov 24, 2005 08:44 PM

That's the spirit boy. Perseverance and single mindedness is what we learn from Saurav and from his attitude to his vocation as cricketer. Good luck.

Its nice that Ganguly has learnt some lessons
by rohan on Nov 24, 2005 07:00 PM

Im very glad that our former skipper Sourav Ganguly has learnt something during his exile from Indina cricket. The much-talked-about selection committee meeting has finally given him a chance 2 showcase his skills or else bid gudbye!
Yes,thatswhat is Ganguly's comeback for,PERFORM OR PERISH...and one can b sure that he too knows that, atleast now....
I think this exile will become a blessing in disguise for the now-much-maligned player from Bengal......by the way..WISH U GUDLCUK SOURAV!
