by Srinivas Kumar T.S on Nov 23, 2005 02:54 PM

This is a great oppurtunity for Saurav to show his ability as captain in Ranji Trophy against maharastra after losing the indian team captaincy.

Ganguly has done the right thing. He should encourage the talent available in Bengal, and this will go a long way in Bengal Cricket. He should act as a mentor for Bengal and this is how he can reply to the insults inflicted to him.

Congrats, you have taken a wonderful decision.

Well done Ganguly.
We are a nation of more than 1billion with very few opportunities to "make money".

begging for a place?
by chinna on Nov 23, 2005 11:15 AM

I fail to understand why is Ganguly begging for a place in Test side like this? Indications are clear that his place has been taken over by younger lot. Cant he understand this? He is getting paid back by same coin cz as long as he was the captain he never cared for anything. Now that he is dropped he is talking of his performance of 10yrs ago.
he should face the reality and must also realise that All Good things must come to an End. We must move on to future than remaining in the past and asking for a place in side due to past performance or by silly gimmicks of some roadside supporters in Kolkatta.

Ganguly relinquishing captaincy : a farce
by Virendra on Nov 23, 2005 10:19 AM

Coz' Ganguly relinquishing Bengal captaincy is just another shrewd gimmick to sabotage the One day cricket match at Eden Gardens.

He realised the support he was getting from the Bong Public (what with Bengal protesting No sourave- No match at Eden Gardens) he added fuel to fire by quitting the bengal Captaincy.

I can bet that this will def. create more brouhaha now.

Remember the furore he tried to generate about Chappell (When ganduly had scored a super scratchy Test century against Zimbabwe)

I think him quitting the Bong skipper post is nothing but a shrewd move from a shrewd person, for whom performance means nothing anymore.
