Match in Chennai
by VS on Nov 25, 2005 06:04 PM

Planning should be good. They should not plan matches in Chennai during rains. It happens 2nd consecutive time.

It's NOT the first time

It's NOT the first time.

Ind NZ ODI scheduled in Oct completely rain-washed.

The same thing happened during last Test match between India Vs Australia, this time it was but serious. India was in a position to win the Match. One day of Rain-Wash, the Match ended in draw, and Austrialians won their Series win in India.

Are we gonna repeat this to the South Africans, who have never won an Series Win in India.

Hi,
I completely agree with what you have said..I think its time the BCCI was held accountable towards some basic stuff like hosating matches at the proper places at the proper time..I think they surely should have chosen a better venue..Somebody should pull them up for this thing...

We fine the players if they make a mistake in the field by either deducting their match fees or throwing them out of the next game if their performance is bad. Then why dont we ever take any action against the BCCI for behaving irresponsibly when they choose unfit players or when they have matches at venues where there is a strong chance of the match being called off due to rain the way they did in Chennai? Is the BCCI forgiven all and the players victimised on every walk of life, while it is the players who win matches and not the BCCI officials??? Why is this injustice tolerated and the BCCI not even asked to give a written apology at least to the Indian public and the players for their wrong decision???? Is it fair???

we can not fight against NATURE ,but we can certainly have better planning. Like , the Board should seriously think to utilise next two days for he match in case of such contingencies. I really have sympathies with Chennai spectators who are wonderful persons.

3rd one day India-SA
by Praveen on Nov 22, 2005 06:55 PM

I just happened to wait, wait, and wait for the weather gods to stop the rain, which was not to be. We all who attended the Chepauk for the match were disappointed seeing no ball being bowled. At least, the TNCA could have refunded the money, which we had spent for the tickets. Hope the authorities are listening.

this is the right time to the indian player's to prove their worth.
by P.gopinath on Nov 22, 2005 06:39 PM

Generally Indian team bat'smen playing with good performence. I think this team have bats'men upto 9th position. But manytimes top & middle order bat's men failure.what i am saying mean's Indian Team Can't maintain Constant Performence like Astralia $ South Africa. Some times playing good and sometimes they are failure. This is the right time to the indian player's to prove their worth. So I hope India can win this series on South Africa.

3rd ODI abandoned due to rain
by Vijay on Nov 22, 2005 05:10 PM

It was entirely a wrong decision to hold the ODI during this perion when there is always the risk of rains. November and December must definitely be avoided. This is not the first time a match has been abandoned due to rain at Chennai due to wrong timing and this will not be the last time if the authorities continue to ignore reality. The rotation of venues must be debated at all levels and proper solution arrived at

how irresponsible could be the cricketing committee(BCC) !
by praful kumar on Nov 22, 2005 04:12 PM

You ask a child in Chennai,'What is the rainy season in Chennai?'. The answer will be ofcourse,'November and December'. With my three years of stay Chennai I knew this simple fact. How could the cricket gurus failed? How could they arrange a match in Chennai in November when it is rainy season and not have a reserved day for the match, then regret of a big wash. There are many places in India where it is not rainy season in November and December.India is very big to see a cricket match abandonned in winter!
