Not LPG

I don't think it was an LPG cylinder. I wish reporters of such incidents would take the trouble of finding out FACTS.
I saw the incident on TV. It looked like a carbon dioxide cylinder, not LPG. BBC news also suggested it was a CO2 cylinder that was being used for making "carbonated" drinks. Apparently, the cylinder was kept in the hot sun and the temperature must have exceeded what is known to scientists as the "critical point". Below the critical point, the CO2 would exist as an equilibrium mixture of liquid and gas, at a comparatively much lower pressure; above it, only gas can exist, and the pressure would be much higher. The higher pressure could have shattered the cylinder. Also, steel cylinders become weakened if they had been exposed to VERY low temperatures for long times.
