England should drop their colonial hangover
by amudhan on Nov 21, 2005 07:06 PM

As a host India has the right to choose the venues. Besides BCCI has its own plan to allot matches to the regional cricket centers. England as a visiting team should drop their colonial hangover and concentrate on cricket.

If they decide to play their warm up matches in Pakistan and to treat India as equal to Zimbabwe, it is their problem.

In any case their team is going to get thrashed in both limited overs and test matches in the hands of rejunevated new Indian team under the leadership of Rahul Dravid.

English Snub
by Ardamun Ramdeva on Nov 21, 2005 05:53 PM

If it is the host country's prerogative to select venues for cricket matches and warm up games, then The English team and their board should behave as decent guests. It is high time the English get off their 'colonial' horse and come down to earth.

My views may not be accepted, BUT it always is a question of 'White' vs 'Brown' and they always have their collective noses up in the air. It is high time we do what we feel, and know, is right and if THEY want to play their warm up games in Pakistan, so be it... and for God's sake don't compare India to Zimbabwe. We are denigrating ourselves by doing so.

Regards,

Attitude of the English

Are these coming to India for sight seeing ? They have just about started winning some matches and they think they are world-beaters. I guess it will be more humiliating for them to get kicked by Agartala school teams than probably a Mumbai team which boasts of class palyers. Gosh !! What an attitude !!! Let them practice in Pak.....atleast they will have a excuse ready for the first test or one-day they lose to India (excuse being "we are getting acclimatized to the Indian weather").

India on for an Eglish snub
by labrea on Nov 20, 2005 10:50 PM

The 'Limeys can do as they please - let them snub as much as they please, just so long as India thrashes the daylights out of them in every game, when they do arrive in India from their 'warm-up" games in terrorist land of Pak. It's an even greater reason for the Indians to rise to the occassion and play thier best.
