Hi to all.I exclaimed about the winning series of indian cricket team. All the credit goes to greg and dravid.I had a doubt in my mind, that is this team will
perform as same as in foreign soil also.If they cleared well,I surely told that 2007 world cup is in India\'s hand.ok.

Harish's coverage
by dilip mahanty on Nov 21, 2005 04:17 AM

Dear Harish,
In your coverage of the 2nd ODI you scarcely mentioned the role of Murli Kartik who tied down one end with figures of 10-4-16-0.
It was amusing to read the dismissive mention of Kartik as "even Kartik-----", meaning that Kartik usually does not turn the ball but did on this occasion only due to the pitch condition!
You must have had your blinkers on during the last India- Aussie Test in Mumbai. While Harbhajan was ineffective, Kartik spun the ball like a top- often across the bodies of the batsmen! He was unplayable and was largely responsible along with Tendulkar & Laxman in snatching an improbable victory.
Ganguly has never handled Kartik well and that is why he has not performed to his full capacity. Under Dravid he is confident and effective. He is a thinking bowler and will do much better in Tests where he can experiment! In ODIs he has to bowl run saving balls not the wicket taking ones.
So please appreciate his efforts in the 2nd ODI a bit more!

it was expected that india gonna halt SA's winning run because this new team has passion and hunger to win matches.
irfan failed in 1st match bounce back in 2nd match and grabbed man of the match.
sehwag , gambhir played important knocks.
agarkar, murli,harbhajan bowled well.
everything is working for india.

its india's time.

1 day b4 match day i was pretty sure about indian victory that, i cast my vote for india in 1 poll on www.cricketwatchdogs.com .

im loking forward to see how indian team play against australia and pakistan, if team india able to perform well against them then we can hope for world cup 2007.

India halt SA's winning run

Hi!

Yes, everything seems to be fine with Indian team, yet we have to admit there are some flaws. Taking statistics of Agarkar, tell me, which ODI has he been spared off without a blasting, especially in the end overs. Its understandable getting blasted at the end, but, i havent yet seen a bowler getting such kind of beating, each time - let me mind you again - each time - and the same errors are done again by our captains by giving him tail-ending overs. He is the worst ever bowler i have ever found. Probably, the ball is more heavier than him.
Secondly, why are individuals taking their position for granted in our team. I want to point out Sachin here. I care the least about his individual records when team is of more importance. He has completely lost his touch, and he has played 356 ODIs. Whats the necessity to keep him in the team? Its a team game. The team has to deliver, not the individual. South Africa, Australia are quality teams because of this reason - they never give importance to an individual, the importance should solely rely on the team.
We have a lot more to learn and implement. We have seen winning ways only in India, overseas?

Start from Scratch

The South Africans were there at the 'threshhold'. With TWENTY Consecutive Wins in ODIs they needed one more to Equal the Australians. The Script was written differently with the Toss going against them!

Now it is like being out at 99! If you want a Century you will have to Start ALL Over Again from Scratch.

India halts SA run

A fitting reply from the Indian side. The younger department once again showed more nerve and attitude. Gambhir and Pathan managed what Sachin and Dravid could not. Sehwag delivered true to form and bowling fired on all cylinders. And Dhoni did not even need to bat. That is great news.

The South Africans should not take things for granted and if the Indian team keeps rooted in reality it can systematically choke the South Africans. A great all-round effort. 16 overs and 6 wickets is a big margin. However, it may be time for Sachin to drop down in the order. Sehwag and Gambhir seem to be a right opening contribution.
