Sir,Your article only about Gangully Not about Heros.
If Indian people not giving respect to heros then they will be never Heros. Indian always give respect,Fame to his every hero whether in form or not.
I just want to clarify that if only Past Record matters for you then why not we are taking Kapil Dev,Jadeja,Mongia,Zahir,Azarruddin in Cricket team? Every Player has his time to play not record matters everytime. Why this debate is not for Zahir,Nehara & Balaji they are in form but not in team.
Its shameful! We are thankless and don't respect our heroes. Ganguly has been victimized by an organized gang consisting of some ex-players, selectors and commentators (who never played cricket!) - disgusting. 1. How did Harsha Bhogle know that Ganguly was asked to step down? Remember how he poked Saurav repeatedly to confess the fact? remember?2. Someone must have leaked news 3. Only four people knew that - Chappel, Ganguly, Amitabh Gupta and Dravid. 4. Ganguly wont divulge that himself. so who are we left with?? And you call Chappel and Dravid heroes? They are just insidious politicians.
i agree with srilankan formar cricketer arjuna rantuga's comment. that we need to give some short of respect to ganguly for his great servises to indian cricket team .eventhough he is not been playing well in recent past i hope still he deserve to be in the oneday team .since he scored more than ten thousand runs which was no possible by not more than 3 cricketers till now and he is one among them. so still i beleve he is one of the greate indian cricketers.and he is the best skipper for india till now . thats it.. ngreddy.
I stongly belived that Saurav Ganguli will come back with full fitess & form in Indian Team.Nobody should be worried about Saurav because he is natural fighter.He will come bact to make his Exit ROYAL.Only oe Hero can Understand other Hero.I belive Dravid,Sachin & other player has tremedous respect for Saurav because they all are genious & very good frids of Saurav. And one heartiest request to all of my Indian Brother that pls be carefull to use your word to other.Your word shows your charecter. Arjun Raatuga not only a great player or politician but also he SHOWS what a great human being he is by giving his statement'INDIA MUST RESPECT ITS HEROS' My all Indian Friends please exted some humanity to Saurav alomg with Indian Cricket team for the betterment oh our cricket. Also I want to share something with everybody that is..in recent Calcutta Match whole world see how caltuttans are react against Chappel but don't think that this agitation only because of Saurav is bengali but because of bengalies are very emotional they react against all odd like this manner which exactly happen in Kapil Dev,Mustak Ali case so rest Indians should not see it as Bengali's event.I'm sure Calcutt
I partially agree with arjuna. because indians giving respect to others. Respect means not to give place in team, who is not in form since years. it is just change of team to achieve good results.
I appreciate the opinion of the legend player Mr. Ranatunga that We should respect our heros. Ganguly is the player of mind and temparament, this is a few qualities which is needed to become a captain and a good player.
Ganguly deserves space in Indian Team to prove himself and we should not forget his contribution to the country. We should not always salute only the rising sun.
Dear Sir, It is a fact that we must respect of our heroes. But at what cost? Do we have to lose a game to retain our heroes and respect them? Then we must still have Gavasakars, Kapildevs, Srikanths, Amarnaths, etc. Then it will be veterans cricket-Isnt it?.
A game should be viewed as a game and sentiments should not have a place. That is what cricket boards in Many countries are doing. We can give chances for somebody to bounce back from a lean patch, but that cannot go on for a long time.
Someone commented that Ranatunga by speaking in favour of Ganguly wants to make India lose to Srilanka by reducing India to virtually ten players. How clever you are! Ranatunga wants to bring Ganguly in so that Srilanka can win! Have you thought why Greg Chappell wants to keep Ganguly out? Because he wants Australia to win. Ganguly was the only Captain to dared challenge Australia. Are we again starting the age of tigers at home and singed cats abroad? Tendulkar needs to be in the team because his mere presence is important. But the so called second best one day player can be labelled as "finished" though he completed ten thousand one day runs faster than even the great Tendulkar! Despite his poor form that too! I also remember people booing Tendulkar in India when he made five consequtive zeros. We did not realise his genius then. As soon as he was praised in Australia and by the great Don Bradman, his presence started becoming important. Prejudice can not be of a higher level I guess! Hats of to you Mr.!
Its ridiculous the way Sourav is being treated. We can see so many cricket buffs writing in a way which they should not have done. It speaks about their saddist mentality. Yes he did failed for sometime during last 1.5 years, so did many like the greats Sunil Gavaskar (before breaking Bradman's record of 29 centuries), Kapil (before breaking Hadlee's record) and long list like Shastri,Mohinder,Vensarkar and Tendulkar Shewag also as on today they are failing Tendulkar since last 10 matches and Shewag a 77 after so many we have not counted coz all these failures are getting covered by Saurav fiasco. Thats why public is public the common man becoz they have an ordinary rememberance. Let us touch our heart and feel how many matches Sachin won for us can u remember any such innings when his performance India won barring those few matches where pressure was minimum and one Sharjah against Australians and couple sparks against Pakis. Remember in all the historic wins India recorded Saurav performed and led from the front starting from Toronto vs(Pak),Dhaka vs(Pak),World cup(2nd highest run scorer),Lords vs(England),Adelade vs(Aus)it goes on. So where these half illiterates,& explayers go
