THis is a good sign for world cup 2007, ganguly was a good captain and only because of that he survived in team. This is the time to built up all rounders, Irfan pathan, yadhav, raina , Dhoni -all these players shld be promoted up, Irfan can be one of the best all rounders, and shld be regularely promoted up the order.Great work youngsters, Congrats to dravid and chappel
I think the victory which Sri Lanka got was mainly becoz of the absence of the big three- i.e. Irfan Pathan, Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh. Otherwise there is no way that the Sri Lankan team could have won. India has given a chance to all their youngsters and I think they had still fought really well to win the match. I think Sreesanth and R.P.Singh bowled really well. Good Luck Team India!!
A wonderful batting performance by the Sri Lankans & A total captainacy disaster by Sehwag. If he can't get off to a start, he should better leave the space vacant for others. You criticized Ganguly for his batting ability and the same is happening with you. Try to perform on field instead of performing in commercials.
What made you think to take off long on and long off in derth overs? When the Lankans were having a go at everything. This way you can't even captain a bunch of boys playing in streets.
Also, I don't know what Yuvraj Singh is doing, He should better be taken as a supersub for fielding only. 21 balls for just meagerly 3 and that too took you 19 balls to take a double. Dont be a burden on the team, try to be an asset and not make ass of yourself and of the country. Also, performance in commercials DO NOT count towards your performance in Cricket. Both are different fields all together.
One more thing to give a thought, Tendulkar came after such a long lay off, why was he given a rest. Has he played too much in the past games, just 4 ODIs and is he so tired? Very Dissappointing to know that Senior players still does not understand their responsibilities.
This was not the time to try all the new players all at once.i agree that the match was close.but the confindence of new players can be built by playing along side some senior players like schin, irfan,etc. bowling looked like that of any first class team.how can so many new faces be drafted in all at once when there were still 2 more matches to play.and the south african team coming.
If they will play like this then there position will become good and they may be able to win the world cup.It is difficult to win world cup but not impossible . Indian Criacket is very balanced team .
It was fantastic to see Gambhir as a openor. He looks as a perfect player for opening in Indian team. The decision to rest Tandulkar, Irfan Pathan and H Singh was very good. I would be healpful to make the stongest Indian Team in the world. We should have some player in researved for bad situations.
