Well done Dalmiya. Nobody can prevent our spectacular player Sourav from coming back into the team. He had served more than any body. I ask all the idiots, stupids who talk against him to remain quite.
Thanks Mr. Dalmiya for officially declaring this that Sourav does not require any God father. But at the same time it is true that something fishy was definitely planted about Ganguly's inclusion in the team. He was advised by the team's physio not to take part in Challenger Trophy. For not playing in the said tournament he was not selected. This tournament was never been a yardstick to judge the performance as after a gap of long six months Sachin came back in the team by not scoring at all in this tournament. So, the tournament was the fitness test otherwise. Now, when Ganguly played well in Duleep trophy and scored a century his name was not considered for 3rd, 4th and 5th ODIs. He has now to fight with the juniors to get a berth in the team. The man scoring in ODIs second to Sachin with 22 centuries has to sit for the exam with new comers. Are we to believe that no game was played behind this? this never happened with Lara, Ponting, Hayden, all great players. Is not Ganguly a great player? Is this the deal he should face after his service as a Captain for last five years. Who made Team India? How come Mr. Greg get's such power? Sri Lanka has own the 5th ODI. Let's see.
dalmiya has not said anything wrong...Ganguly will be back in his own merit. He is a cricketer of a class. No chappel, bindra or dungarpur can prevent his way in.
Dalmia is certainly having a great political mind. A leather businessman ruling the Indian Cricket is not a joke. He must have something in his mind to get the Ganguly back in the team if not as a player then as a coach later-on. Anything is possible in Indian Cricket when the remote is with people like Dalmia.
The internal politics of BCCI erupted as Ganguly-Chappel "Super Series" has taken its toll not only on Ganguly but to entire "EAST ZONE". If the venue selection of the on-going Sri lanka and forth-comming England series is any indicator, then the with the power grabbing game of BCCI election, a strong Tsunami wave of "regionalism" is visible. This is certainly more destructive than the BCCI politics. Out of the total 24 matches (Warm-ups, ODI & Test), only two ODIs (Cuttack and Guwahati) have gone to the share of East zone. The Lions share has gone to West ZONE and NONE to world famous cricket loving city of Kolkata. Maharastra and Gujarat alone gets 10 matches (>40%). This clearly indicates the present control and polarization. Its seriously a pathetic affair. Though surprisingly the Team India is presently doing well, but I doubt, with the present state of infighting, the present.
Mr. Dalmiya's answer speaks clearly about his partisan attitude toward Ganguly. Would he speak out so vociferously if any other player was excluded? God knows how many more talented players then Ganguly have been dropped during his regime.
