What A MISS.....
by BHAGAVATH KUMAR on Mar 02, 2006 01:04 PM

What a miss... Just 183* scored by Dhoni....
There was no more runs required for india... thats why the world record was just missed...
The next world record is goin to beat by M.S.Dhoni very very shortly with a fantastic 200...

By scoring 183* dhoni broke one more world record of most runs scored in secound innings.and one more (may be) % of runs scored in team total 30X (cant remember exact figure) runs while chasing.
if possible please provide stats regarding this.

Wishing best for all Stats Gurus and M.S. Dhoni
Abhijit

Looks like a mistake here

Your write up says:

When he reached 150, he became the fastest wicketkeeper to reach this mark in terms of balls -- needing only 123 balls to do so. The previous record was on the name of Adam Gilchrist, who raced to the milestone off 127 balls during his innings of 154 against Sri Lanka at Melbourne on February 7,1999.

However, in the statistics you show Gilchrist has scored 172 against Zimbabwe in 126 balls. Is this a mistake? I cannot imagine Gilchrist having taken more than 123 balls in this innings to reach 150. If so, did he score the remaining 22 runs in 2 balls?

Probably Gichrist still holds the record for fastest 150 in balls taken.
Pl check it out.

Plethora of records at Jaipur One Day
by Rajesh P Menan on Nov 02, 2005 11:37 AM

Some of the other observations that I had is as follows:

1. Both the wicket keeper Batsman were not out through out the innings.(138 n.o and 183 n.o)
2. Both the wicket keeper were in the field for the full length of the day.

Kudos to Dhoni!

I wonder if he has also made a new record by creating / beating so many records in a single innings!!
Can someone do the research please? :)

Dhoni's world record
by Rohit Shetti on Nov 02, 2005 10:27 AM

Hi,

Dhoni's world record of scoring the highest individual score with the team batting second needs to be mentioned too. He leads this list by a long way.

Rgds,

R
