Tax Exemption should not be provided to Cricket Matches. The best is to barred telecasting of Live TV Matches. Then let me see how much money flows in this time wasting game.

Why is the government acting so dumb
by ajay singh on May 26, 2005 08:17 PM

Wow, Giving tax exemption will be a great benefit for india. Now Indian money can eaisly go out of country. Icc will be more richer. But Indian Government will not gain anything. But thats okay as we are a very rich nation and we dont mind if our money goes out of country.
I think thats what is in the mind of our government. I hope they change there thinking. If ICC rejects our country then Indian government should put taxes on Indian company sponsyring the events.

Tax Exemption for BCCI
by Hersh on May 26, 2005 04:41 PM

Sir,
I beleive such tax exemptions should not be granted to BCCI which is a non-government organization.Allready cricket matches result in a huge loss of productivity on top of that we grant them tax expemption.... developing countries like India could ill afford this. Atleast there should be some provision that a certain % of proceeds should go to Infrastructure Bonds or the like.

Best,
Hersh
