Gavaskar kept quiet, without taking any action on Players??. It shows indiscipline of players. They should have been thrown out of team. Gavaskar without naming players still keeping quite. Gavaskar its pity on you.... you should leave from board/selectors panel sincerity is not there in your ownself.

Why would anyone want a coach just because he wouldn't be told that he is no good because he happens to be from the same nation?

The objective is to win and anything short of the said objective is at odds with the job at hand.

Why hire an inefficient Indian coach?..Just because the players are a little nicer to the guy, the relationship will inevitably sour if he fails to prepare them to handle the competition that they face.

The best coach is the one that produces wins..Unfortunately, the coach can only do so much..The majority of players play like sissies who are afraid to get their uniforms dirty..Until the coaches start emphasizing to players to train hard in the offseasons, the coaching position will be turn around like a revolving door.

There is no profession as unforgiving as pro sports. If the leadership is unacceptable, he should have been fired.Millions of dollars of endorsement money are at stake. There is a vested financial interest for producing wins.

John Wright was crying his heart out like a baby because the players berated him. If he can't handle criticism, he's in the wrong profession. He should be fired. He isn't in control..Winning breeds respect and control

Gavaskar, this is the nature of professional sports..When big money is being made by the respective stars of the teams, there are conflicts of big egos...It's only a matter of time before the players become unionized to fight against that monolith, the ICC, the most antiquated administration in all of professional sports..Back to the subject, it is moving away from a league dominated by the ICC and the coaches to one dominated by the high-salaried players..It is an inevitable shift..Coaches have to know how to handle egos and also prepare the team to win...I STRONGLY DISAGREE with the notion that if it were an Indian that verbal abuse wouldn't take place..Name one good Indian coach in ANY sport, Mr. Gavaskar..These views of sport are partly to blame for the weakness of India in just about every sport not called kabaddi..When I say good, I mean, someone who has contributed to winning consistently against the top-ranked teams..They aren't winning....You can't fire all the players; you CAN fire the coach..If an Indian comes in and fails to win, he may not be verbally abused, but he'll be shown the door similarly..The problem isn't verbal abuse, it is a lack of WINNING.

Wright's abuse

It is a big shame that some Indian players did that sort of a thing. What I do not understand that why the hell this kind of indiscipline is tolerated, instead of making a complaint through a proper channel, who gives the right to ANY player to act like a 'coolie'. Well, Mr.Gavaskar, would you mind naming those persons here. I surely believe some non-performers would head the list....more so they would be a few blue-eyed boys of Dalmiya & co.

Till the time you boot out those elements...nothing much would change.....Greg Chappell or no Greg Chappell.

shocking

this is shocking, to say the least - how can these players do this to a man who has given his everything to indian cricket for the past few years?
no wonder that the team has been declining steadily for the past few series.

Either Mr. Gavaskar should reveal those players name or he should report the same to BCCI and take stiff action against those who are guilty of doing such acts.

The Indian Team has the talent to be much more consistent than what they are now. But the body language is of just arrogance. Some times, it looks like they are not bothered to lose the matches. Of course, you win and sometimes you lose, but, the way India Cricket team loses can't be digested.

Discipline is the most important thing that a team requires to excel in sports. Look at Pakistan, they have shown there courage to drop Shoaib and it was proven that individuals do not win the game, its the team that wins the game. Its not the records that matter, its the performance as a team that you deliver win matches.

BCCI has taken certain firm stances in the recent past, BCCI should act professionally to keep the team more disciplined. Those who feel they are indispensable, should be thrown out of the team and should only select those who are committed and proud of wearing the Indian Cap. I am dead sure that Rahul Dravid will never do such act at all, because, he is sheer professional and is very much commited
