How to select a coach?
by ram on May 20, 2005 05:07 AM

Here are the qualities I look for a Indian Cricket team Coach.

1. Brilliant strategist
2. Tough nut. I am fine, if everyone hates him but he has to be tough with the players
3. Able to communicate to captain on the field. As the new one day format comes over, I can already see our captain chewing more nails even fingers.

I am sure the selection of coaches also must be a subject of betting. With Amarnath and chappell upbeat I wouldn't be surprised if Tom Moody is selected and Desmond Haynes is definitely dark horse in the race.

Amarnath..well,i see him as the trump card.As far as i am concerned, this coach selection is not for a developin team like kenya, bangladesh, but for a team who have their capabilites and proved it from then till now. What our team need is a total COORDINATION..i repeat..COORDINATION..which lack a lot.If one fail to bat, another should make it up.i think, that's happening, but bowling section..it's weak.I feel, not much is goin to happen once a coach is selected, but mainly it depends on the player to believe in their skills..Pace pitches should be brought in india.So,inshort..wht i feel..Amarnath can do the job well..ASSETS in the manner, there will be not much communication gap, easy to mingle with and moreover a cool guy..GREG CHAPPELL,ofcourse,is a talented one,but.....i suggest a win for india with a indian coach.let's hope for the good.
