Nandu,
What is your achivement in life? What did you do so great that you have right to say things about another person who overcame disability to represent india....

While one agrees that every person fulfills his / her duty in various different ways towards society, but to downplay someones achievement is bad.... I wish everyone is taken care of and remembered for their achievement.

I find it ridiculous for people to compare sportsperson of yesteryears to current players.
(Example : What good is to compare John Mc Enroe or sampras with fedrer or nadal). Every game evolves and current day player compared to yesteryears would be better , they have to be better , or else there would be no fun.

Wish good for everyone and salute all the heros of yesteryears because of them we are where we are.

All the best

crappy article

The author has no understanding of cricket. True Chandra is a good bowler, (I have seen him at play). And he was a terror some times, but there has been lot of times that I was disappointed watching him where I thought "OK Here comes Chandra and he'll start running thru teams", Unfortunately those were all urban legends. An average of 32 is not that great, one should tell the author. During the heady days of our spinners, we hardly won anything. When we won it was when Gavaskar entered the side.

And the author goes on to say that we lost due to lack of batsmen and lack of bowlers. Hey when your team comprises of 4 bowlers who have averages of 30+ any idiot would reduce a bowler and get in a good batsmen or the semblance of a fast bowler but our captains in those days wouldn't do such a dreaded thing. They would rather lose than disturb the famed spin quartet whose figures don't look good if you put them against the bowlers of today (an age where bowlers are treated like dirt by the rules and the nature of the game). And lose they did "left right and center", the only claim to fame was the West Indies and the English tour 2 series in decades of cricket.
