Best Coach - Geoff. Boycott
by Suketu on May 11, 2005 11:30 PM

There is no better person than Mr. Geoff. Boycott, who can coach our Indian Team. He & his 'mom' can
re-gain the form of the batsmen with a 'toothbrush' also.

coach for indian team
by ganesh on May 10, 2005 09:37 PM

in my opinion the best coach for indian team will
be one mr ian terence botham if we can get him
it will be the best that has happened to indian
cricket. since he was an all rounder with records
in both batting and bowling he will be the ideal
coach. there will be no need for a seperate bowling
coach.
regards
ganesh

Lets look for what we need!!
by Srikant on May 10, 2005 10:29 AM

I liked reading what everyone had to say on this subject. I think rather than looking where our next coach should come from, we should first see what does our team actually needs. The areas where we still find ourselves wanting. Lets break it down to evaluate our needs:
Batting: Arguably, the best batting line-up on paper. This has and probably will be our forte for times to come.
Fielding: Bringing in a foreign coach, physios, fitness trainers, experts in this area offerig advise to our players, add a new dose of youth injected into our lineup has paid dividends as we have witnessed on the field.
Wicket-keeping: It is true that we have not seen another Farooq Engineer, or Syed Kirmani, or Kiran More. But there is plenty to talent waiting gloved-up waiting for a call. I am sure theres one among them who is waiting to prove us wrong and turn out to be a star behind the stumps.
Bowling: Now.Isn't this what we always crib about. At least 9/10 times. Not that we have not had star performers Kumble, Harbhajan, Srinath, Kapil, going backwards...How about moving forwards??. I see Pathan, not much beyond that.

Now, lets try to answer a question. Do we need a bowling coach?..Akram!!

Right Person !!!!!!!
by Vinod.M on May 10, 2005 10:28 AM

Dear all,

My vote is for Mr.Deano, he is only guy can able to make india better team compare to other contendors. He is still young and aggressive. We need people who should be aggressive..... this is the main lack in the present indian team.

Really disappointed why they have omitted this guy. He knows indian players very well and he know the subcontinent conditions.

I don't know why BCCI are looking for old guys. They may not able to mingle with young players. We have to look for young talented coach. this will be good prospects for future indian cricket also

Regards

Ganguly is the best person to take over Wright
by Debjit on May 10, 2005 03:42 AM  | Hide replies

Do I need to say anything??? The subject itself says everything. He is really good when it comes to utilizing and nourishing the talent. He has built this team and should get something in return. He deserve to be part of this team and definitely go to West Indies for world cup 2007. But the question is how to make this possible and the only answer to all the problem is to make him the coach. Anyways he is the best captain and who knows he may break all the records as a coach ;)

I fully disagree with your opinion b'coz presently Ganguly should not be even added into Team considering his form. Atleast leave him now and learn from Australians - how to be number 1 always. Examples are omission of big players in the Australians in their times - Steve Waugh, Mark Waugh, Dean Jones, Bevan and various others. Selectors should be like really Australians - very tuff. To my opinion, Ganguly's time is over and don't give him any chance since already given too much chances. Still World Cup is far and can make preparation but unfortunately we, all cricket fans are aware, Team will be the same and this fire will go on to juniors. Regarding Coach position, when Kapil Dev could not able to do well when what others will do. Bring mental toughness into senior players like specially Sachin, Dravid, Yuvraj and Sehwag also. They all requires to change their position from time to time b'coz change is the necessity to bring perfection. Again see Australians, you must be feeling the omission of Hayden in near future. As far as Coach is concerned, bring any Australians b'coz they are well aware of the pressure situations and mental toughness. Let's hope for the best.

Pick Deano!
by Ash on May 09, 2005 10:26 PM

I was surprised to not see Dean Jones name in the list.
He is one who can really motivate and make The Difference to the team.
I personally think that apart from Ajit Wadekar, none of the other coaches took India to another level.
I am still hopeful that Dean Jones is included and gets the job.

hi

Greg Chappel is the ideal person for the post since he has the knowledge and the experience. india needs a foreign coach so amarnath should not be selected . also other than chappel viv richards would bea good option
