Conspiracy
by HB on Mar 29, 2005 11:59 AM

I think it is a shared conspiracy of every team that India has played with in the last couple of years to hype up Tendulkar, his past achievments etc. before every series and no one ever questions why he, or ganguly or vvs laxman are ever selected.

We indians are suckers for 'greats-in-the-time-gone-by' ploy. We'd like to hang on to nostalgic past and come out wondering why the present is so messed up.

Retirement call for Indian Team
by sridhar on Mar 29, 2005 11:38 AM

Ganguly, Sachin, VVS should announce their retirement from International cricket with immediate effect. The first one has forgotten how to hold a bat, the second one is playing for breaking and making records, the third one is living on past credits, and feels that he is the best batsman in the world. Incidently no one is playing for the country. We should follow the rules of Austrialian cricket board and sack the irresponsible people immediately. Yesterday he faced 98 balls and scored only 16. Pathetic.

Cricket : sachin should is mainly responsible
by Pramod on Mar 29, 2005 09:54 AM

I think sachin has played long enough and made enough records to seat realxed on his pile of records. It doesn't affect him whether his country loosed or wins. The only thing that matters to him is to shatter all records. He has become a very negative cricketer playing only to his selfish ends.

The Indian board should look seriously into this and give him some rest. Once I used to be his die-hard fan and though him as GOD but now I hate him and don't like to see him batting .

Please wake up Sachin , You are a LION and not RAT.

Why u people shouting?
by Karthik on Mar 26, 2005 01:19 AM

Friends!
Do u all remember SAchin's performance when he was captai? he was not good at captaining and his performance also went down that time..
Ganguly has time and again delivered.. its natural for all the players to go down in the form.. if sachin is not scoring u ppl never worries. but only pointing against Sourav.. he is the best person available to captain India..even steve had his share of problems with batting? do u ppl remeber only sachin adn dravid's batting? do u remeber his battle in brisbane? or the way he played in windies where he consistely scored 60's and 70's when sachin failed..

Ganguly and Laxman should retire
by Sabyasachi Dey on Mar 25, 2005 11:41 PM

Ganguly has been one of the greatest left handers India had and ofcourse most successful captain. He should be given due credit to put up a winning India team which was definitely missing before. But that was past. Ganguly's recent form in both batting and captaincy indicate it is time to bid adieu. He should run restaurant rather than cricket team now. Same to Laxman. He looks so nervous, lack of zeal & life on ground. With bat also he is just a shadow of history. Kaif should be in team. Not sure about Yuvraj. Pathan should be rested for few matches as he looks unfit and tired. I won't be surprised if India looses this match and if this is last match for Ganguly.

Ganguly
by C Jones on Mar 25, 2005 09:59 PM

Lets not get too hasty about firing Ganguly as captain. Traditionally it has been the trend that the captain does not perform well on the field. This happened with Tendulkar and Dravid too. I dont know what it is - perhaps the pressure of winning that gets to the captain and he fails in what he does best. Ganguly however has defied this trend and has been one of the winningest captains we have had. He has had a lean patch of late and due to the talent around him, India has managed to keep the score ticking. His bowling changes and field placement are subtle and precise. I think he needs a little more time before laying the axe on him. VVS Laxman however can use a break. He has had his time but failed to deliver. Maybe India can use someone more aggressive in the one dayers.
