Ganguly Captaincy
by Sunil George on Mar 23, 2005 11:13 PM

Even though Ganguly is not performing with the bat or with the ball or in the fielding part, he is best suited for the Captaincy Role. He is most successfull Captain India has seen so far according to me. But his performance in all part of the game has come down considerably.

Wright to quit.....

It's a known fact that Indians show great technical prowess under the right direction, but lack sound leadership qualities. This fact is borne out by history and in all spheres of present-day life. Little wonder firangs are called upon to fill in, as the locals, lacking the required depth of character and presence of mind, are totally not up to the job?? As everyone knows, firangs get more respect in your country than the desi wallahs. Go figure.

Sachin is a world class batsman. Every players are passing from bad patches, as Sachin is scoring runs. Ultimately Sachin's runs helping to India also. We should never underestimate or doubt on Sachin's capicity or his personal intention.

Padma Bhushan for Wright
by Pankaj Kumar on Mar 23, 2005 05:37 PM

With John Wright stepping down as Indian cricket coach, an era has come to end. The partnership of Coach Wright and Captain Ganguli will always be remembered for good cricket played by India against Australia (both in India and Australia), World Cup, and against Pakistan (in Pakistan and India).

Most of Indian players were comfortable with Wright even though he is a foreigner. Wright was always in forefront to defend the team when things went wrong but was always in background when India did well, he never claimed credit for good performances by Indians.

Wright era also saw advent of hostile pace bowling by India, initially in form of Srinath and Prasad, and culminating in India playing three seamers Pathan, Zaheer and Balaji in Chandigarh against Pakistan.

Always a nice and likeable person, Wright has done immense service to Indian cricket, without raking up any controversies.

It would be in fitness of things if Indian Government recognizes his services and awards him with Padma Bhushan or at least Padma Shri on the Republic Day 2006.

I would invite views of the other readers on my proposal.

Wright to quit in April

Dear Sir (whoever is close to the Board),
While the entire country is extremely happy about the fact that India has won the second test match in Kolkata, why are you trying to share this sorrowful news ahead of the third test match? While the order of the day is: verbal bashing and too much talking, such statement will only add fuel to the fire. What are you gaining by disclosing to the general public that Wright is quitting at the end of April, at a time, when our Indian team morale is high?
JIS THAALI MEIN KHAATE HO - USME CHEDH MATH KARO (Sure you will understand).
Request to the Indian team: Please do not get demoralized because of such statements from someone close to the board!!!
GOOD LUCK TO YOU FOR THE FINAL TEST!!! KEEP IT UP!!
- Ananth (from Muscat, Sultanate of Oman)
