Rahul Dravid is the most consistent batsman of our time.He is the best cricketer as well. You can,t compare him with Lara or Sachin,Ponting or Gilchrist. They are genius in their own way.But Dravid is far more consitent. He can be said to be the best thing since Sir Don Bradman.
i dont know still what all dravid has to do to proove his worthness to the team india. the overall perception towards his batting style has to change in everyone's mind. dravid is dravid, he cant be compared to anybody, for that matter nobody should be compared with dravid. why should everybody think that his great knocks were overshadowed everytime by his team mates? imagine if dravid hasnt given them the partnership at that time, the other wouldnot have got that greater knocks. cricket being a team game, dravid has excelled as a team man to the core. everybody has batted around dravid's consistency. because he holds his wicket the others are able to perform. this is the secret for others performances. dravid has done enough for team india and others especially ganguly and laxman should take a leaf out of dravid's consistency and work around it. only one knock of laxman and a couple of centuries on debut by ganguly cant be compared to consistency. a player has to perform consistently to be called as great. dravid has shown this already. best of luck for dravid and team india for the future.
I believe Dravid has not been hailed in the same manner as earlier tendulkar was. Although he has contributed to more indian victories than any other player in recent history. Lets hail Dravid and his invaluable contributions to Indian cricket!
I don't agree with your statement that 'It made him (Dravid) only the second Indian batsman, after Sunil Gavaskar, to score two hundreds in a Test more than once'. If you remember correctly, Mohd Azharuddin had scored 3 consecutive centuries in his debut. If you are not taking that into account may be what you said is true.
