bhajji's action

it is nothing but the racial attitude of whitemen.
they can never play spin bowling and one way of showing their frustration is calling subcontinent bowlers as chuckers.

it is high time that the bcci puts an end to such contraversies as we are a very financially powerful board in world cricket.
take for example when india refused to participate at sharjah, mr bukathiar came rushing and fell at our feet.
the indian govt should put their foot down and not accept for tax waival as icc is not a non profit organization but a purely business minded one.
let them go to pakistan and we not participate and all indian companies banned from sponsoring or advertising and icc will see the end result and lick our foot.
we should never allow whiteskinned racialists to dictate terms as crisket is played with passion and with artistry in the sub continent.
these are purely my views and also viev of many indians who do not have a forum to vent their feelings
thnks rediff for giving an oppurtunity.
ganeshram.

Is Broad Harsh On Subcontinent spinners
by kamal on Mar 21, 2005 04:12 PM

hi, this is to say that CHRIS BROAD the match refree from ENGLAND is very harsh particurly on sub continent spinners(murali, Harbhajan. i'm telling this bcoz,it's d same man who reported murali in zimbabave for d same reason when nobody reported him after his early problems. i think this english ppl who doesn't know 2 play quality spinners, doesn't want the spin duo's 2 get settled. the other seasoned refree's or not complaining abt the spinners, only broad has reported murali and bhajji. he hasn't reported either warne/ macgil or even vettori,if this is going to happen again and again, it's better 2 ask broad 2 quit his match refree's job and ask him 2 learn the art of spin. one final question is why only OFF SPINNERS are reported, why not LEG SPinners or even Orthodex left Armers.

Ridiculous! Smacks of the raj
by Manoj Sharma on Mar 21, 2005 04:09 PM

Yes, it certainly has a lot to do with the identity of the match referee! As Muralitharan correctly pointed out, McGrath, Gillespie and Lee were all clear chuckers as per the old law which did not allow bending the arm up to 15 degrees. Why were they never reported? Is it because their skin is white?

The Mike Denesses episode banning Sehwag and trying to demoralize Tendulkar & others, then the accusations against Dravid in Australia, now Harbhajan being targeted, it all points somewhere! Beware Anil Kumble, you are the one yet to be victimized, you may be the next target!

bajji's action
by shankar on Mar 21, 2005 04:02 PM

this is redicilicous on part of chris reed on reporting bajjis bowling action.when expert has cleared his bowling action recently, how can it be reported again, i wish ICC hould take certain steps before declaring that blower is checking. this way of reporting would destroy blower confidence and ruin ones carieer ,to say the list.

bhajji's action

This is getting ridiculous now. It feels useless to even comment on it. As the time passes we expect the ICC to become more fairer and equal to all countries, however we are witnessing otherwise.

Broad's narrow view

Sir,
My comment is that the fact that some bio.. tests have cleared Bhajji (or any bowler for that matter) to bowl a particular delivary does NOT guarrantee that the bowler will not make the same mistake again. It might be that the bowler was aware of the problem and subsequently during the bio.. tests
(sub)consciously bowled correctly but again in the test match the defect can crop up.
Yours' sincerely,
Subir Ghosh

Give the bat to broad and than see.....
by Jaswinder on Mar 21, 2005 03:24 PM

If i a batsman cant pick the doosra by bhaji, so it is possible for a 55 years old man like Broad to pick his doosra. If is only picking the doosra by eeing lot of replays frame by frame and that too at very slow speed. The fact is that it is always the bowlers from cub continent that are targetted because players from england, australia, new zealand find hard to face them. No bowler from australia or england has been ever pointed. So the Indian board with pakistan and srilanka board should fight it out and take a stand, otherwise these things will continue and destroy the carrier of very talented cricketers like harbhajan, murli and many other..
