Kudos to Rahul Dravid who has always been an unsung hero!
However, an interesting fact is that Dravid played 149 innings in 88 Tests to score 7658 runs while Tendulkar played only 142 innings to score 7329 runs. The difference is only 329 runs. In seven innings, it is reasonable to expect Tendulkar to have scored 329 runs or even more had he got to play those 7 innings in his 88 Tests.
This shows that staatistics show only part of the picture.
Of course, this does not take anything away from Dravid who deserves his share of glory!

I believe the highest totals mentioned here are from their first 88 tests, and not career highest.

Dear, As the heading of the third table says "Highest run-aggregate after 88 Tests", Tendulkar and Lara's highest scores were same as shown in the table by rediff.
RE:Dravid Stats
by Sreekanth on Mar 22, 2005 08:38 PM
'375' and '217' were Lara's and Sachin's highest scores after 88 tests. See the heading of the table properly before marking it as a fault.
DRAVID the name which comes everytime we talk about indian cricket;everytime India is in dire state;when we are praising about Indian cricket.Jammy I am not saying this just because of your perfomance on the current day but you have been mine inspiration right from the day you scored 94 on the your debut test against England. It was actually a sorrow feeling for me on that day but I always knew they were many for you in the future and you exactly proved it right. You the next indian batsman to be scoring 10000 runs in test cricket.I wish a very best of luck.Jai hind.
