I am surprised laxman is still hanging around in the Indian team without even being dropped temporarily. Yuvraj and Kaif have proven they are worth the test place and there should be atleast one spot which should go the best player in form. Laxman if he has to bat at #3 it does not mean he should do poorly #6. He should show his form and work his way up the order.
This guy is lucky he got married at the peak of his career!

Maybe number 5 right for Laxman
by Yogesh on Mar 16, 2005 11:22 PM

Hey,

Maybe Laxman can come in at number 5. Why Ganguly is in the team? Can rediff pull some statistics on Ganguly's performance and relative performance of Ganguly and Laxman.

In my opinion Ganguly is just a liability. We should play him only against teams like Bangla Desh and Zimbabwe so that others can rest. He has not shown any intelligence as a captain either. I fell to remember any great move by him on the field that changed course of any game.

Regards,
Yogesh

Should he bat at all!
by Kishore on Mar 16, 2005 07:30 PM

No way..everyone keeps saying that Laxman has an average of 53 something at number three. But Dravid our current number three has more than 57.50 at any position and he is been the wall that saved India on numerous occasions.

While laxman does it once in a while(or you can say bluemoon or even an year). Dravid does it all the time. If he is good enough he better perform at any position given.

There is no way you can take him based on his one or a few knocks in the past. If you consider his recent past you cant even take him into playing eleven.

He has outstayed his welcome long enough.

Laxman lazy with his batting
by Balaji CM on Mar 16, 2005 07:02 PM

Laxman is much lazy with his batting. His foot is not moving well as he did it in the past.He is outformed.I think my option is to pick Yuvraj in the place of VVS bez he is in gud form and he is making centuries in duleep trophy also.So taking Yuvraj is a best option ahead of VVS if he is not performing well in this second test also.

Thanx.

Laxman should bat at No.20
by Isla on Mar 16, 2005 05:53 PM

The way Laxman is playing recently he does not deserve an place in the team itself. And neither does Ganguly desrve an place.

So whom of these should bat before is not worth an debate.

VVS should be promoted.
by Mrinmoy Das on Mar 16, 2005 05:34 PM

Hello friends,

Well i would always like to see Laxman at no three seeing his previous records one can easily feel that the sonner he comes to the crease and spends more time the better is the chance of him clicking and playing a big knockin test cricket. All of us are awre of his class and Magnificent innings at Eden Gardens.

So i Sincerely feel that he should always come at number three position and not odwn the order.

Thanks and Regards
